Hi Everyone! I know this is really early, but I thought this would give everyone a chance to make plans & start saving pennies for the trip.
The 2008 shoot will be held May 3rd, at Schwenkes Gun Range (4407 FM 1069) in Aransas Pass, Texas (35 miles SE of Corpus Christi. The cost will be $15.00 per person.
Schwenkes is a private gun range, that charges its members $50.00/year. I met with Mr. Schwenkes today, he said since I seem like a nice lady, he would allow us to use his range. He also said if I would give him the time we will be there, he would close the range to his members. He smiled as he said the following, This range is for members only, some may complain, but I own the darn thing and can make up the rules as I go along.. I am thinking 10:00 2:00. Let me know if you think it should be longer or shorter.
There are only two rules set in stone; 1) pick up your brass and deposit it in a tub at the end of the shooting area, and 2) when shooting at the rifle range aim at the mounds, there are cows in the area and he doesnt want them dead! The maximum target distance on the rifle range is 200 yards.
For our Memorial Shoot attendees that do not shoot, there are lots of tourists stuff for you to do so you want be bored at the range. The U.S.S. Lexington tour is awesome, Padre Island (Port Aransas) is always fun to cruise and Rockport is right around the corner.
Food & fun will follow at Deer Camp South after the shoot.
The trailer at DCS will sleep about 8ish people, if anyone wants to sleep there. If you are a camping type person, you can pitch a tent in the yard or if you have a camper, you can park it in the yard. For those that like luxury lodging, there are several hotels in Aransas Pass and the surrounding area (Rockport, Port Aransas and Ingleside) and Corpus Christi is 35 miles away. To get to Port Aransas you will have to ride the ferry ~ a whopping 5 minute trip (the wait in line may be a bit longer). MAJOR BIT OF ADVICE - - Choose a major hotel/motel chain when you pick your lodging!
The closer it gets to the date of the shoot, the more I will go into details.
Y’all are SOOO special...
But I didn’t regeret not going to see that goat...
Signed, Deadeye Froufrou...
Maybe next time cabrito will be on the menu. ;)
:)
MMMmmmmm....Cabrito...
I think that one might be a bit tough though.
That damn goat is to evil to eat.
I was just “kidding”
Yup. we need a little one
Well, I do just love the weather there, especially in the summer...and the ambience...and the background noises...
;-)
Humblegunner went to see the goat many, many times.
ROFL!!!!! Somehow I knew that’s what you would say!
~~~~~hee-hee~~~~~
It was just wonderful to see you all again and I am already looking forward to #4!
Wonder where it will be........?
Now we’re in AZ and it’s warm and DRY here! :D
No humidity? gee that has to suck ;)
Yeah.....it’s AWFUL to not have Texas Big Hair tonight! LOL!
You left before we could say goodbye! Sure enjoyed seeing you again, MY! (((hugs)))
I had to move..
Left at 830 and got home at 430.
It was good to see you too. I had a blast yesterday.
My kinda time ;)
Glad you made it home safely and in good time.
It was a great time! So much fun, food and frivolity (and the darn goat!) :D
True, but the way he was sniffing around those Nanny goats, maybe next there may be some nice juicy cabrito on the menu.
Although he'd probably be pretty good as fajitas de cabra. Probably have to marinate the $^(% out of it though.
That's not me, I'm much fatter. See Humble's video for a demo.
*blush*
I’m sorry....I wish I wasn’t such a dork! LOL!
Think I’ll wait for the next generation. :)
