however odious Carter can be, he is not the cause of the Iranian revolution. the root cause was the shah and his repressive policies, which after more than 25 years had alienated the Iranian population. it was only after the revolution started that it was taken over by the Islamist radicals.

I don't think he is senile. As far as I can tell, he was always like that.

The worst thing about our country at the time of Carter’s election victory was that the majority of voters showed up to vote for someone who had nothing to do with President Nixon. Everyone thought they knew everything there was to know about Nixon, but Jimmy Who was just a harmless peanut farmer from Plains,GA. And he seamed liked suck a nice, peaceful man. Another 4 years of him as president would have destroyed us all.
