How popular is he? What will he do to the Republicans if he enters the race as an independent? Is this something to be concerned about, Perotian style?

No, I think he’ll take votes from the Dems. If he had tried to get the GOP nomination, however, he probably could have gotten it simply because he had the money and the power and we don’t really have a front-runner right now.

He was a Dem all his life, but because he left the Dems to buy the NYC mayoralty, he lost his position in the pecking order. Otherwise, he’d probably be the Dem candidate for Prez.

He appeals to just the neocommies, IMHO, a legend in his own mind.
