House rejects security fence at the border

The U.S. House of Representatives shot down a proposal Friday by U.S. Rep. Trent Franks, R-Ariz, that would have built an 854-mile, double layered security fences along the Mexican border.

Franks noted that only 13 miles of a Mexican border fence approved last year have been built and that the fencing is needed to improve border security.

"With over 4,000 people crossing our southern border illegally every day, our border remains one of our country's most critical national security vulnerabilities. In order to carry out an act of terrorism, a militant Islamist simply needs a porous border and a dangerous weapon," said Franks in a statement.

Franks represents Glendale, Peoria, Sun City and Kingman.

The fence plan failed by 272 to 149 votes. Most Democrats (including Arizona congressional members Harry Mitchell, Gabrielle Giffords , Ed Pastor and Raul Grijalva) voted against the border fence plan.

Most Republicans (including Franks and fellow Arizona Reps. Rick Renzi and John Shadegg) voted for the comprehensive fence plan.

Mesa GOP Congressman Jeff Flake crossed party lines and vote against the border fence bill.

The House did approve an overall homeland and border security appropriations bill Friday. Mitchell said he backed that bill because it allocates federal money to hire more Border Patrol Agents and resources to deport violent illegal immigrant criminals.

"Deporting those illegal immigrants who have committed violent crimes is absolutely imperative to keeping our communities safe," Mitchell said in a statement. Mitchell represents Tempe and Scottsdale.

The state's four Democratic representatives and Renzi voted for the final bill. Flake, Franks and Shadegg opposed.

The votes could be a precursor to a big political fight over immigration reforms, a guest worker program and how to deal with the 12 million illegal immigrants already in the U.S.

Very ominous.

If they rejected this bill, they will approve the amnesty bill.

Jorge El Segundo,The Democrats and the RINOs have sold America away for international globalist interests.

The American Republic is dead, the Constitution is trampled upon.

G.R.I.P.

Get Rid of Incumbent Politicians.

If the s.o.b. voted for this, vote against him or her in the primaries - if they get nominated, cross party lines to flush them out.

Picket their offices, flood their phones and e-mails and letter boxes with messages - tell them how angry you are and that YOU WILL NEVER FORGET!!!!

If King George and his acolytes get awa with this, representative democracy is as dead as a dodo in the United States.

Maybe Putin is giving Jorge some pointers.

One fine day. The Hispanic Governor of California along with the Hispanic governors of Nevada,Arizona and New Mexico along with their hispanic state officials will hold a joint news conference and declare their states a Independent Hispanic republic. And it’s coming soon.

Read this article about L.A. mayor Villargiarosa in May 21st's New Yorker.[link]
He's on a path towards running for governor in 2010. He knows all about Aztlan.

I think you are right... the illegals dont want to be citizens, when we get enough of them here especially in the south west, and LaRaza and the rest of the groups wanting to take this area back will just do it.. nothing will stop them..

All I can say is their best isn’t good enough. If Israel can do it, we can certainly do it. Their best isn’t treating the Border Patrol agents like criminals, who are only doing their jobs.

I thought this fence was already voted on?

What gives?
Is this legislation to wipe out earlier legislation?
Is this a refusal to fund the building of the fence already voted for?
I’s totally confused.

I disagree about putting up a fence at the border.

All we need to do is install claymore mines and barbed wire with trip lines to keep the wetbacks out of our country. When someone gets killed, the sight of a bloody body will be enough of a deterrent.

The bastard is a MEChISTA. He actually served as chairman of one of their local chapters. Despite being asked countless times if he still embraces the views of MEChA he will not give a straight “yes” or “no” answer. And the press just lets it slide.

This whole damn mess is worse than pulling teeth.

Flake is useless. What's he even doing in Congress...? Oh, that's right, screwing us over...

At some point I would like to think that patriotic, loyal military officers who still believe in ‘preserving, protecting and defending’ the Constitution of the United States, and upholding America’s sovereignty would decide that enough is enough, and do what is necessary to save our Nation.

The United States Congress can not be trusted. Neither can the United States Senate. The Executive Branch has gone completely berserk, the right hand saying that the War on Terror must not be abandoned, the left hand leaving America’s borders wide open to the tune of 4000+ illegals crossing over daily from Mexico ALONE.

So what am I saying when I say that I’d like to see some military officers say ‘enough is enough’?

Ask yourselves this question:

Do you wish to see the United States sail madly on to the rocks of our national destruction due to the irresponsible foolishness of so-called ‘leaders’ no different than Captain Edward John Smith of the Titanic, or perhaps Captain Queeg of the fictional U.S.S. Caine?

If your answer is “no”, then ask yourselves if you think America can survive until the ‘08 elections take place.

If your answer is “no” again, then ask yourself if you would prefer to see our Nation destroyed from within, or to survive, if by necessity that requires a military government?

The truth is, they don’t want a fence, and won’t build a fence no matter how we scream.

An effective fence is 180* counter to their goal of a North American Union.

"Mayor MEChA:"

Read about how a pro-communist, ultra radical "MEChista" named Tony Villar cut his hair, changed his name, put on a tie, and became the mayor of America's second largest city.
