Not quite my friend, read the arguments when we took in all of the Vietnamese, yet today there is a poor population that votes democratic, but a larger population who started with nothing yet are now successful, well educated professionals or business owning republicans who would fight to their last breath for this country. There is always a gut response to oppose that that we are not familiar with - to protect, yet our country always comes through these times stronger and more productive. Something has to be done and politics as it is now cannot produce a solution any of us will fully agree with - I think where we go wrong is in saying nothing can work - if we learn from the past failings and make sure that what we do now will at least help address the primary security issue, then we have to make lemonade with the lemons we don’t like. You cannot get a 100% win, but if all you do is complain and oppose you are the conservative equivalent of Harry Reid. Do you really want to bury the Bush, Kyl version of this and wait for The Pelosi-Reid version to get shoved down our throats instead. You think some of the RINO’s won’t vote with them - guess again. If we can get improved borders, a true ID/employer verification system, we may have to live with some of the rest as these will help a lot. If you play cards, you will never win by folding every hand because maybe the next one will be a perfect winner.

it is obvious you are a White House or Congressional hack. All your rationalizations are naive and laughable. Building a wall is the most important step. Nothing else matters. A Polesi-Reid version-- lol. Do you realize the ACLU and leftist judges will toss out much of these so called security measures you espouse. You don't seem to get it do you. (I think you do get it -- you are a government hack).

If this bill passes, it will truly mean the end of our Republic and a terrible future for our children. Our vile government leaders are about to destroy our country and you try to tell us we want 100%?? What a ridiculously patronizing statement. Your snobbish arrogance reeks of the DC elitists. You must live away from this problem. I see firsthand the destruction wrought by the illegal invasion.

With respect, I think you are being naive about immigration, and ignoring the differences between the controlled immigration of small numbers of freedom-lovers and massive invasion of illiterate illegals.

The large number of illegal immigrants from Vietnam clustered in the Silicon Valley has resulted in Vietnamese gang violence, and an alarming incidence of TB infection, among other ills. They are definitely NOT making our country "stronger and more productive."
