County commissioners said they were deluged with complaints from throughout the country Wednesday Yea! Common sense won out! It just took a lot of people to point out their... partisan foolishness.

"If your roof gets blown off, do you really care if the radio station that is giving you the information that you need also carries Rush Limbaugh?" Jacobs asked. "I don't think so. I don't agree with that man's philosophy and I don't listen to him, but I'm not going to not choose WIOD because of it."
A Dem with common sense! A rare breed indeed.
I would have to define her as a potential target for conversion.

I think they were more likely shown the light by some lawyers.

"They said WIOD has a strong signal, sister FM stations that simulcast news during emergencies and was willing to guarantee live coverage."
Exactly what I said should be the main ctrieria in selecting a station. "coverage"

This is what I sent the Ritter twit:
“As a native Floridian I am writing you to express my disgust with the possibility you may not broadcast emergency weather alerts on the strongest radio station because of your political affiliation.
I guess to hell with the safety of the good citizens of Broward County and surrounding Floridians.
At least now we know where your priorities are. THEY MOST CERTAINLY ARE NOT WITH THE THE SAFETY OF THE CITIZENS OF FLORIDA DURING AN EMERGENCY.
MORON!!”

Rush’s comment on this was right on target: if they are truly concerned about his program, they should schedule the briefings so that it is pre-empted.

They need to have an agreement with every radio station.

Has that airhead Ritter had any other lame comments since the story broke?
To: Patriot28
The people of that county need to be very, very concerned at the childish level of thinking of their county commissioners. It’s just childishness—”I have the power, so now I’m going to run this place to suit myself.” Scary.

Let's rewrite the story, shall we....
"WIOD announced today that it was cancelling its contract with Broward County to broadcast official emergency notices, because the county commisioners were all stupid liberals with whom it was impossible to work ."
