My sincere sympathy to you and Tonk’s family. He was a very special FReeper.
To: MoJo2001; amom
Mojo, thanks so much for keeping us posted.
amom, my sincere condolences to the family. So many loved ones have been leaving us this year. My father, my best friends, father, but they both made it to 95 years of age and now Tonkin.
Once again, may the good Lord comfort all in the loss of their loved one..........Spunky

My prayers go out for his family and friends, that they may have the strength they will need to deal with this loss. He was a great supporter of our troops and will be missed here at FR.

Brian J. Marotta (aka 68-69TonkinGulfYachtClub)
(1948-2007) Rest In Peace, my FRiend
Brian was a friend, a PATRIOT, a member of VetsCoR, a true WARRIOR in the cause of FREEDOM. Before the relatively recent unpleasantness that caused his illness, we talked many times, both here on FR and by phone. I will miss my FRiend, my shipmate, truely one of my heroes in this life.
To his family and friends, please accept my heartfelt condolences on the loss of this good man, this HERO, and know that he will not be forgotten.
Let us pray -
Lord God of grace and glory, We remember before you today Brian J. Marotta.
We thank you for giving him to us and to our nation; We thank you for his contributions and his courage.
In your boundless compassion, console those of us who mourn, especially families and friends.
Give us your aid, so that we may see in death the gate to eternal life, that we may continue our course on earth in confidence until, by your call, we are reunited with those who have gone before us.
We pray for the peace of the Messiah!
In the name of Jesus; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen!

I get the feeling he might just still be guiding some other hands to do just that.

Like a number of us FReepers, Tonk grew up in Chicago and was part of our Chicago-memories-type threads a few years ago.
