We need to stop putting people up there.
It’s expensive, worthless and most of all, dangerous.

I completely disagree. It’s human nature to explore.
However, it’s stupid to go about it half ass. We should get the crew to the ISS and get them home and let the shuttle try to get back on remote.
The shuttles have no business in space, especially when we have much, much better technology.

And as Christopher Columbus proved, it's a total waste of time.

As long as people volunteer, we should keep sending them.
By the way, sign me up.

I suppose that same argument could have been said back in the 16th century about a far away place known as the Americas.
People need to explore. Especially Americans; it's in our blood. Regardless of the danger; I'd go up in a heartbeat if given the chance.

We need to stop putting people up there. Its expensive, worthless and most of all, dangerous. it's reported that "An average of 195,000 Americans died annually in 2000, 2001 and 2002 because of potentially preventable, in-hospital medical errors, according to a study of 37 million patient records conducted by HealthGrades, a healthcare quality company."
"With national annual highway deaths at more than 42,000, the Federal Highway Administration ..."
etc - do we ban cars and hospitals?
all deaths are tragic and should be prevented whenever possible - but unless we all hide in caves and do nothing but contemplate our navels, there will be, unfortunately, people who die.

Good thing our ancestors weren't such pussies!
Look at history and see how many of the pilgrims from the Mayflower died the first year.
Also how many ships were lost in the crossing over the first 100 or so years after 1620.
