This is one fact politicians tend to lose sight of after being in office awhile. The corporations and large entities that donate tons of cash don't vote. It's the people who vote.
All that cash may make for a grand campaign, but it's the voters who choose the candidates, then elect them. Once you marginalize the voter, your campaign is dead no matter how much cash it has.
Well said....I think they are about to get a big shock when working class democrats kick ‘em all in the chops too.
From your lips to God’s ears BUMP!
that is exactly right....vanquished without a shot fired.
future warrior civilizations will laugh at how quickly we went from lion to lemming...
What are these jackasses message to the conservative base anyway?...Sell out your kids future for the sake of big business???...Kiss my A#@!
I don't agree. You must be an unemployed soothsayer.
It's no secret that GOP money has been drying up. The GOP fired all their telemarketers recently under the guise that the phone system was antiquated. But the telemarketers claimed donations were off by 40% or more.
I have to believe the DNC is also suffering. They're just a lot better at hiding it. While the unions themselves may be anxious for the bill to pass, I doubt the rank-and-file are. And I doubt many every-day Democrats are happy with their party over this. Not when polls show only 23% of Americans favor the bill.
“What are these jackasses message to the conservative base anyway?...Sell out your kids future for the sake of big business???...Kiss my A#@!”
That is exactly the message!
Hear! Hear!
That's all this amounts to. It's the death (aka estate) tax on a national scale. The security, liberty and prosperity our forbears bequeathed to us is being seized at the point of a gun and redistributed to others - others whose culture portends not a prudent use of such wealth, but a squandering of it.
That flushing sound you hear is America and all the grandeur and greatness she once possessed.
“Republican blue bloods, on the other hand, have been largely bemused at the reaction of the base to the immigration debacle. They don’t understand what the fuss is all about. Putting profits over people is a concept they are comfortable with. They have been doing it in their businesses for years. They aren’t impacted in the same way as the base by the tax burden associated with immigration. After all, they have tax advisors and accountants who get paid to find loopholes. Jobs? They don’t need them, they provide them. And if they can get a lower wage worker to fill them, that just means more money going to the bottom line. Preferential treatment? They are accustomed to getting it for themselves and their designees. Social implications? They don’t worry about them. In the circles in which they move, they aren’t exposed to an underclass. Common language? Among the elites, cash is the universal language, and if a foreign language is spoken, it is usually French, not Spanish. “

I’d say since ‘89-’90.
We need to make a deal with the liberal border hawks. We beat the hell out of the GOP quislings, they beat the hell out of the Democrat quislings.
After we have secured the border, deported illegals, impeached the quislings, then we can back to beating the hell out of each other.
I see popularism being the defining theme of the 2008 Presidential Race. It’s not Republicans and Democrats or Conservatives or Liberals but elitists VS. all of the above.
Politics and our two party system are an illusionary narcotic to the masses. We are all so busy arguing with each other that none of see we are all being hosed.
I’m not saying various groups don’t have their differences, but at this point we had all better wake up to the fact that they are turning this country into a banana republic.
LOL BUMP!
