A man named Don Dinsmore forwarded Red a letter yesterday from his son, dated 19 December 2006. Don is retired Navy. His career as a PAO began in Vietnam and ended with Operation Iraqi Freedom. He has two sons who are Marines. One is a sergeant in Camp Pendleton. The other is currently deployed with the 3/1 in Iraq. He is .Capt. Jeffrey Dinsmore

I just read Capt. Jeffrey Dinsmore’s letter to his father and my sense of disbelief regarding the Haditha rush to judgment is only tempered by the simple fact that there are sick people in our media and Congress that wish to inflict arbitrary harm to those that defend us.
It’s no doubt an inescapable memory once accused on the front pages of the NYT, in the Halls of Congress, and by the liberal foghorns who’ve mastered the art of defamation. It’s hard to imagine a retribution that would ease, let alone heal, the anguish unjustly thrust upon these guys. It is in my prayers that the trust we have in our Marines is the prevailing thought our defenders remember; our trust reflected in the truth which shines brighter each day ahead.
