What say our naval FReepers about this boat? How does it compare to American subs? It's pretty impressive. As to how it compares it's probably on par with the latest U.S. boats. Let's just say I'm glad she's on our side.

What say our naval FReepers about this boat? How does it compare to American subs?My understanding is that the Astute is as quiet as the previous stealth ace, the quietest German HK diesel (the Dolphin class). However it's a nuclear sub.
The Astute's power pack has (apparently) the same acoustic signature as an electric battery.
