You are ;)
I’ve had SIX of my own personally (mostly Springfields, two Colts), not to mention the two dozen that have been issued to my by Uncle Sugar.
Even the lightly-used Reserve 1911s weren’t nearly as reliable as the Glocks or SIGs. My P226 has over 43,000rnds through it since 1990 and it’s still a champ. I’m all outta 1911s, though.
But, hey, that’s just my personal experience.
Yours could be different.
I don't think I'm gonna live long enough to put 43,000 rounds through any of my guns. My daughter might, though.
I've got a little over 1300 rounds through my Springfield in the last year. At that rate, I'll need another 33.076 years to get there. But I don't see any particular reason that any of my 1911's couldn't make it to 100,000 with proper care.
Whoever shoots them after I'm gone may make that milestone, I dunno and I don't care.
Got nothing against the Sigs and Glocks or whatever, I just like my 1911's. They fit me, I shoot them passably well and I appreciate the history.
I'm just saying...
