Only 7 or so Republican Senators, the RINOs voted not to kill this Bill. The REST of REPUBLICAN senators voted to kill this bill. They all deserve our thanks and for us to stop bashing the GOP. Think if you are one of these MANY Republican Senators who did the right thing by voting to kill this bill and all you hear still is relentless bashing of the GOP from conservatives and liberals? That will make anyone give up. I haven't seen any praise for these Republican Senators who stood up to the media,Democrats and Bush and did the right thing by killing this bill. Bashing Republicans is part of most people's DNA now it seems. Bush doesn't = GOP.
The 7 RINOS who voted not to kill this Amnesty bill are not real Republicans but they are just liberal democrat,moles posing as “republicans” who call themselves Republicans. These RINOS voted NOT to kill this Bill. These are the usual suspects like Hagel,Spetre, Lugar, McCain. REPEAT these are NOT Republicans but liberal/communist MOLES. These "republican" RINO moles almost always vote on the liberal side of the issues with the Democrats to provide cover for the Democrats/socialists. With this cover then the liberal media and Michael Weiner (”Michael Savage”) another liberal trojan horse can put the full blame on Republicans for every bad bill and every conservative thing not done.
If you look at the actual VOTES then you wil see that most Republicans actually do the right thing most of the time but all we hear is bashing of the GOP from Weiner and the media. Most Republicans voted on the right side for Tax cuts, to kill this Amnesty bill, and against McCain-FienGold to give just 3 examples. It was only the combined force of the RINOS and Democrats that passed McCain-FienGold. 90% of Democrats voted against tax cuts for McCain-FeinGold and for Amnesty but the media and Weiner blame the GOP. Bush has been wrong on several issues but he is an individual and does not speak for every Republican. However he is president so the media and Weiner can use any action by Bush to generalize the whole GOP and the government educated morons buy this without looking at the actual votes. The government educated morons don’t have any clue how the government works,how we are a nation of laws not a dictatorship , that 84% of spending if you include military spending is mandated by law,and that is is hard to pass legislation even if you have a majority as this Amnesty bill showed. And liberal Trojan Horses like Weiner("Michael Savage") who called for the Resignation of the Republican leader of the house Dennis Hastert during the height of the election and the liberal media generated Foley “scandal” are leading this war against freedom. as a result democrats won control of congress and Amnesty got closer to passing.

I can hardly believe that NM Senator Domenici voted “nay” after his passionate defense of the bill on the Senate floor. I’d like to think our calls and emails swayed him, but I have to wonder if he saw which way the tide was running. He wants another term.
The Senate bill was dead on arrival before it ever got to a vote. The legalization efforts were supported by the Chamber of Commerce types looking for cheap labor, who are natural allies of the Pubbies. Under the radar the Pubbies knew this was a killer part of the bill. The guest worker provisions were opposed by democrat types, most notably the AFL-CIO. The actual first key vote in a series of amendments leading up to the final cloture vote, was an amendment by dem. Sen. Byron Dorgan to cut the number of additional guest workers in the bill by half, from 400,000 per year to 200,000. This was not enough to satisfy the AFL-CIO and they still opposed the guest worker portion of the bill. In addition, many of the AFL-CIO’s individual members, especially in the private sector, oppose the instant legalization shamnesty fiasco, thus the bill was destined to defeat from the beginning. That is the reason you saw Senators Boxer, Landrieu, Stabenow & Snowe (R-ME) for example voting against cloture, since they are heavily supported by unions in their respective States. That is also true of Senator Reid, the Majority Leader. He took some heat from unions in his own State of Nevada to make sure the bill stalled in the Senate.
If the same bill is brought up again in a revised form you can be sure the guest worker provisions will be watered down to be meaningless in practice. You can also be sure if the democrats take the White House in 2008 the bill will be brought forward again and jammed thru the Congress if possible. Even then the cowards who encamp in DC may still not have the cajones to stand up and vote such a bill up or down given the opposition to defacto amnesty from the grass roots on both sides of the political divide. This fight is not yet over by a long shot.
In the items you quoted there was no praise for socialists/Democrats but rather an explanation of the reasons why some of them (and indeed some of the republicans also) would vote against cloture.
Very good post. I totally agree. We should be bashing the dems and the RINOs’, not the Pubbies who have remained faithful to the cause. Thats the one gripe I have always had, especially durring the 06 elections is that the Dems were getting a pass, even from Freepers, while the Repubs were constantly getting bashed. I think the liberal media does have an effect on even the sanest people.
