With due respect, you don't seem to understand the situation. And forgive me, but I have little time to explain my case. Suffice to say that there are strong (oligarichal) influences in Washington that affect BOTH parties, and one tactic has to do with keeping wage slow via diluting the labor supply with immigrants who might not ordinarily be admitted via the normal process, hence a blind eye is turned to their illegal entry.

Some manner of border security is obviously necessary for the survival of our Republic. Do you think that the emperors of China or ancient Rome (Hadrian) were any less astute than the average US senator?

Regarding the Republican Party, IMO Bush and his minions were sent to destroy the Conservative movement, but to leave the Republican Party intact so as to create the illusion of an ideological battle with the Democrats, but which is conducted between the 45 yard lines (as it were) around the implementation of a gradual and future one-world-order agenda.

Borderbots. I like it, kinda catchy. Thanks.

We don't need a new law, the current one simply needs to be enforced.

And we elect people who agree with us all the time. Then they get to Washington and a few hundred lobbyists each pay them a few thousand dollars, and they spin like tops. Then we throw them out and elect another set who agree with us. We figure one day the nimrods will purchase a clue and stay there.

Until that day, the world turns. Conservatism does not need its elected representatives of a given hour, since it is timeless moral truth and will always "out" in the end. The reverse cannot be said of the limp pragmatists, who still haven't noticed that nothing fails like the worship of immediate "success".

(If you have the slightest doubt in the matter, compare Reagan to Bush pere...)

“You have to actually elect someone to office who agrees with you.

This should have been part of your educational process.”

Exactly. Everyone should vote for someone who AGREES with them. It would be stupid to vote for someone who disagrees with you, but I can’t help but suspect you think we should do that too. I suppose we should give up and just vote for whoever you agree with, which is apparently anyone on the planet no matter how liberal or wrong-headed.

Honestly, there is such an amazingly wide disconnect between reality and your posts that I have to wonder if they aren’t some sort of prank.

“But he’s too inept to do even that. How history will judge him is entirely dependent on who writes the history, but in my book he’s a failure.”

Let me add something to your thoughtful comments.

Let Bush make another mistake like Harriet Miers, Katrina, The Dubia Ports Deal etc and he will drop into the same tier as Jimmy Carter.

We need a memorable name for these traitors. Something catchy so when you say it everyone will know their names. Kinda like the Keating 5.

Oh wait, you guys lost the 2006 election for us so the Democrats are in charge of the Senate

We should rebuild the grassroots conservative movement. From the Reagan Revolution of 1980 through the Contract with America in 1994, it was this movement from outside Washington that carried us to the first center-right majority governing coalition in more than 60 years. The problem has not been with conservatism or with our voters.

The problem has been with Republican leaders who forgot who elected them and what values their supporters expected to see implemented in Washington.

“If your polling data is so much better than the Rasmussen poll, this bill would have passed with flying colors and Nancy Pelosi would be having a vote in the house.

Last I heard, Nancy and the Democratic majority in the house have yet to bring immigration up. I wonder why? Afterall, they do have the majority”

I’m sorry I think you missed the point. I’m not quoting polling data. I’m not discounting the Rasmussen poll, but merely pointing out that if people knew the costs involved and what that meant to their household they would get less than 2% not 24%.

The way to prove me wrong would be to check the Rasmussen questions. And I guarantee you that the illegal alien cost of $2.5 trillion was not it.

Nancy doesn’t want to put her neck on it. Of course as a San Francisco valued person who values all Third World cultures, she would be happy to see them replace the “mean” Americans.

Yes. Lott’s another with whom I am bitterly disappointed. I thought so much better of him.

It happened for me when, re: Bill Clinton's impeachment in the house, Lott declared to David Schippers, "You're not going to dump this garbage on us."

What a coward.

The border will remain more open than ever because of the failure of this bill.

No, the border will remain more open than ever because of the failure of this PRESIDENT. We have a president who refuses to carry out his oath and enforce the law. We don't need new laws, we need a new president.

I thought he was done the day he came out for this like an arrogant petulant child.

The guy is out of his mind in his godlike view of himself. No wonder the word is that his colleagues don’t like him.

He is a failure because of his own inadequacie......he's too inept to do even that. How history will judge him is entirely dependent on who writes the history, but in my book he's a failure.

Very well stated. I once believed he was a good man, but, of late, he's made more than a few of us look like fools.
