Reverend Al Sharpton, President of National Action Network, and one of the country's foremost leaders for civil rights, is blasting the justice system for what appears to be favoritism in the early release of Paris Hilton.
"Though I have nothing but empathy for Ms. Hilton whom I have met and appeared with on Saturday Night Live the night I hosted in 2003, this early release gives all of the appearances of economic and racial favoritism that is constantly cited by poor people and people of color. There are any number of cases of people who handle being incarcerated badly and even have health conditions that are not released.
I have served several sentences for civil rights and civil disobedience actions and I even fasted which caused health concerns to prison authorities who paid for a doctor to come see me daily rather than release me. This act smacks of the double standards that many of us raise

She served more time than OJ!
This story just won’t quit.
You know, I hate to admit this but I agree with the Reverend Al on this one. Add to that my recent bout with Bush Derangement Syndrome and I’m starting to wonder if there’s something wrong with me.
The Justice Brothers are on the case.
It has legs, as they say.
BTW, This is the only time I have agreed with Al.
I’m afraid he has a point, although I dont think her release is racially motivated.
Sharpton, you fat toad, everything looks like economic and racial favoritism, unless you are getting paid to see it otherwise. Why don't you go back into the kitchen and serve yourself a big steaming cup of STFU.
Nope, sorry Al. This has nothing to do with race and everything to do with MONEY.
Skanky legs at that.

Me too. I keep checking the back of my head for an emerging wispy grey ponytail.
I’m sure none of us would expect Al Tawanna-Bradley Sharpton to let a chance to inject some class envy and racial division go by, do we?
What about the threats of riots if whites cops are, and are found, not guilty? Nothing racist about that.
Much as I hate to agree with Al Sharpton on ANYTHING, I have to admit, he has a point. While I think that the whole Paris Hilton thing has been much ado about nothing, her "early release" is sending the wrong message.
I agree with Al too! But I don’t think it is a racial issue but rather a MONEY talks issue! Still looks bad. She whines and gets her way. I’m sure there are lots of “first timers” who weep and have a tough time. She’s just damn lucky she didn’t hit someone with her car altho because she is a Hilton she would have gotten off any way!
Are pigs flying? Has anyone heard from Hell about the snowstorm? I find myself in agreement with reverend Al.
When he’s right, he’s right.
Well, half right anyway.
This is all about the money.
