Bush 'surprised' by conservative anger
The Washington Times ^ | June 06, 2007 | Jon Ward & Ralph Z. Hallow

"He was surprised by the reaction," Mr. Snow said of Mr. Bush's speech in Glynco, Ga., last week. "The speech in Georgia was, 'We've got a serious problem and we need to fix it.' It was not in any way designed to be pointed at Republicans." But conservative opponents of a Senate immigration bill supported by Mr. Bush reacted furiously to the president's suggestion that they are resorting to scare tactics by using the word "amnesty" in referring to the measure that would allow millions of illegal aliens to remain in the United States.

Evidently you think that Mexicans are DUMBER than they appear to be.

Well, I don't think they're dumb or appear dumb. The actually have figured out what the political class is going to do and acted to position themselves pretty well.

They did just what the business R's and the underclass D's have been wanting them to do and encouraging them to do for the last 20 years. They crossed the border, worked for peanuts, and had kids who are citizens and future D's.

The illegals and the American political class thought they had a binding deal. And now they both are pissed off that the goobers who vote aren't playing along.

I have much friendlier feelings toward the illegals than I do to the political class that deliberately brought this crisis about for it's own benefit.

” These dolts are being used and they aren’t smart enough to see it. “

That right. The illegals are just pawns being used by government and business to shift wealth from the middle class to business.

The cost of digging a ditch is what it is. Business, with government help, is shifting some of those costs like health care and education onto the taxpayer. With the help of government, business is corrupting the labor market. The labor market only works efficiently with the rule of law. When business hires illegal workers they’re subverting the rule of law and the labor market.

This would not be happening if either:

- the government didn’t allow it;
- business didn’t participate.

Together they’re screwing us.

Mr. Snow yesterday said the immigration dispute between the president and conservatives "does not mark a point of disjunction," and emphasized that the White House recognizes and is responding to conservative opposition to the measure. "We understand if you're going to get this thing done, you're gonna need Republicans," Mr. Snow said. "It's important to build a large coalition, including our conservative base."

Oh, and this is a real gem Tony. This marks a complete DIVORCE. Don't come calling for my help, you and the President and very likely Republican party will have lost it. Nor do you have a conservative base any longer. As for recognizing the need for Republicans to pass that, note the distinction. Republicans but NOT conservatives. No conservative would support this.

Goods and people could move freely in the North American union.

Yeah, but nobody's going to mexico and nobody's going to Kanada. They're setting up camp right here in these United States, from Tierra Del Fuego to the artic circle, they're coming as fast as their feet will carry them.

We can't fit 6 billion people in this one country!

He was surprised by the reaction,”

Just as Clinton often felt our pain.

And Hillary has often been saddened.

Bush is either dumber than his command of the English language suggests or a puppet of whoever really runs the show or as corrupt a politician as there has ever been or, and here is where I would place my money, all three.

How can he have so little love for this country? For years I have not been able to understand how the liberals can be so blind and stupid.

And now Bush comes along and takes the Stupid/Blind trophy right out from under our trust, and says, "Here folks, this really belongs to you. The first thing I did was have Kennedy write the education bill, expanding the role of the federal government in public education. I signed the campaign finance bill knowing it to be unconstitutional, went immediately into spend, spend, spend mode, increased the size of government and a long list of other actions which clearly were of no benefit to the United States of America and now when I invite a few of my Mexican friends to spend the night, you cry foul. So, yeah, I'm surprised at your outrage. I mean buy a vow, take a hint, get a clue."

We're like the United Nations. If Bush isn't careful, we'll send him a few letters appealing to his better nature and tell him what a bad boy he has been.

Yeah, that'll teach him to sell us out.

Never saw that post. I imagine the real reason they are doing this is because big business and government want it. And of course, the graft.

I received a birthday card for El Presidente from the RNC. It allows you to write a personal message. I was going to use the prepaid envelope, but hubby had a better idea - send it to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

My message:
It will be a very Happy Birthday if you secured the border, withdrew your support of the Senate Shamnesty Bill and pardoned Ramos and Compean. (So little room, so much to say!)

I am now composing a letter to my Congress Critter Melissa Bean (D). If I can figure out how to do a vanity post, I would welcome comments.

Needed just a hair more !

I wonder if the President drove down SW 29th street in Oklahoma City, a highly Hispanic area, and saw the HUNDREDS of Mexican flags flying, if then he would “get it”. These people do not want to be Americans, they want to be Mexicans living in Mexico, and they want this country to become a part of Mexico. I really can’t imagine any other reason to be flying the flags of another country by the hundreds if you are really loyal to the country you are living in. Can you?

It was exposed at the time. Briefly in the MSM. Picked up by various internet and other news media, most notably by The New American, but others as well.

As for the MSM, they buried it.

Colson got 10 yrs., iirc, during the Nixon administration for unauthorized access to one FBI file, Hillary and company got a pass for over 900, all on 'leading Republicans'.

I have considered the Congress pretty much 'compromised' ever since, and while the Republicans held the majority, they did little, with a few individual exceptions, to dissuade me of that belief.

It seemed as if key measures failed by just one or two turncoat votes.

The RINO purge of 06 may be a good thing. It is a shame a couple of Conservatives got caught up in it.

I got an email from Grassfire - re the new ad “Where’s the Fence”. It’s hillarious. Laura Ingraham was playing it on her show and I was laughing about it all day. Then .. tonight I got to see it on Hannity .. and it’s really funny!

They suggested we continue to call our senators and ask them .. “where’s the fence”. You voted for it .. you authorized payment .. NOW .. WHERE’S THE FENCE.

In San Diego, where Duncan Hunter saw to it that our portion of the fence was completed .. San Diego has had a 90% decrease in drug smuggling and 56% decrease in petty crimes.

The fence works.

I have a list of phone numbers for key senators if anybody wants them.

You forgot to add that Bush was too chicken $**t to veto the unconstitutional CFR bill.

By the way, I have one simple law that would solve a lot of problems. "The only person that can donate anything of value to any candidate for federal office is someone who is registered to vote for them".

No more lobbyists, no more money from people they do not represent and you would have GOBS of people registering to vote because they would have control over their elected representatives again. Plus, the SOB's in Congress would have their butts at home all the time because that's the only place they could get $$$.

This is class issue too, between us common people and the elites. We cut our grass and wash our own clothes.

I cut my own grass and wash my own clothes too. We do everything around our home...and our investment rental. I value my security clearance. No illegal will ever be permitted to work on my property.

One of my subcontractors pays $150/week to have illegals clean his home. He pays $50/week to have the grass cut. My reaction to that revelation was "holy $h|+!". I must be a real cheap skate. I'd rather do the work myself. That leaves me some disposable income.

There are republicans and there are conservatives. It’s nice when the two are the same, but there are no guarantees.
