They don’t need a yardarm. They can keelhaul them instead!

Piracy and hostage taking is no joke in this region.
World opinion prevents anyone from stopping it and prevents shippers from protecting themselves with lethal force.

Time to call in the Marines. “To The Shores of Tripoli” refers to our war against the Barbary pirates (read: islamofascists), won handily by the first US Marines.

An LSD like the Carter Hall doesn’t look very ferocious above the gunwales, but is packs a nice Marine punch ;-)

If anyone has a few million dollars and wants to fund a Clive Cussleresque business with me, we could make a lot of money and have a lot of fun as mercenaries off of Somalia and Indonesia. We could outfit a large vessel with speedboats and a helicopter, etc, and set up contracts in advance with the major shipping companies to resuce their ships when they are attacked by pirates. We could also do “on the spot” work for much higher rates.

Be sure to get your Letter of Marque notarized by Congress first, or you could be held under the same rules as the pirates.

Sink the three small boats first, then head toward the Dutch ship. I bet the rest of the animals surrender real quick like.

At least two such companies exist but they operate with helicopters.
Did you know these merchant ships must sail unarmed though places as dangerous as the Straits of Malacca?

Huge ships with tiny crews are an inviting target to these people...
A single plasma TV from one container on these ships could feed 5 families for months in that part of the world...
