We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen, And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.

Well done, but behind the times a bit. Anymore they just have two Kings or two Queens.

Or the Queen already has one kid, and another on the way.

Cute, but completely false. Kids can pray, and otherwise express their religious beliefs, in school. Even the ACLU has successfully defended Christian kids against attempts to suppress their freedom of religion (such as a kid singing a Christian song, students distributing religious literature, and one who put a religious message in her yearbook entry).

completely false.....

You mean you can read or quote your Bible in class, and pray in the classroom...how about prayer in commencements....and pray in the name of Jesus...can you have the Ten Commandments in the school, class room, etc.

WOW....What State or city do you live in...I might want to move there!

The poem spoke of personal prayer. Things get hairy when it can be seen that the school administration is getting involved in the exercise of religion -- whether for or against. Even among the religious who want administration-enforced religion in school you have the problem of which religion. We have had deadly riots between Protestants and Catholics over the issue.

I went to public school in southern Missouri, 1951-1963, before prayer was banned and the only time I heard a prayer was at the graduation ceremony.

Just 5 minutes ago, one of the FOX commentators interviewed a recent valedictorian of her high school...
..a lovely, articulate, obviously intelligent young lady...

..Why was she invited on?

Because during the course of her speech, she included her testimony of salvation and shared how she hoped others would know Christ and be saved from eternal hell.

The pathetic team of 6 commentators who sat in judgment of her were almost unanimous that she was in the wrong...

..but they found the school even more in the wrong, because they didn't read & edit her speech.

These pathetic 6, sitting in judgment, threw her a few kudo crumbs, but overall were aghast that God was glorified!

Good mercy, our nation is going to H**L in a handbasket with this amnesty mess, contagious lunatic running around the world... and who knows what...

..and yet the newsfolks still argue over a valedictorian speech cause it mentioned God.

Thank you for stating that often over looked fact.

Maybe in a different day you could successfully have Christian religion in public schools, if it were tried today, the islamists would demand that their religion be there too.

No thanks.

The poem speaks about:
Scripture, prayer, mention of God’s name, dress code, prayer in public, the Bible, quoting the Bible, electing student officials, teaching right and wrong, birth control, what you study, the Ten Commandments and guns....

It is about the total mess in the public schools….. and as someone mentioned, the poem is behind the times, now is okay and commendable in fact they will help with education/training about how to use condoms, protect transgenders, pedophiles and sadomites (diversity) but religious people, oh no….that’s what the poem is all about….

Dear God:

Why didn’t you save the students at:

University of Texas at Austin, 8/1/66

Dear Concerned Student:

While I am allowed in those schools, with the UT religious studies program, VT’s chapel and numerous sanctioned Christian student groups in both, I didn’t feel like saving anybody on those days. Either that, or it’s part of my larger plan that innocent people had to die for. Believe what you want.

Sincerely,

God

“shared how she hoped others would know Christ and be saved from eternal hell.”

“and yet the newsfolks still argue over a valedictorian speech cause it mentioned God.”

Do you think that maybe the complaints might have been that she insulted every non-Christian in the room, by telling them they were destined for eternal hell?

I doubt seriously whether they would have had any problem with her thanking God for her good fortune and his guidance. The problem comes when “Christians” feel a need to judge those who do not believe the same things that they do. Sure, there is a place for that. Its called a church, or a church sponsored event. It is not a public graduation ceremony. The commentators were right, and this “valedictorian” may have gotten good grades, but she wasn’t very smart.

Pretty good poem! That clear headed young man/woman has a future. I wonder if it was printed in the schoool paper; it should be!

VT’s chapel

Non-Christian chapel.

Non-Christian chapel.

General purpose, but it is available for Christian services and ceremonies. God being "in" or "out of" a school has nothing to do with the murders.

Problem is, islam is already being promoted by the public schools while Christianity is being actively discouraged. Too late.

I’ve looked on Snopes for stuff about Hilary that was detailed, with evidence, in a few books about Clinton. Snopes said it wasn’t true.

Snopes are not God and they are liberals, so you never know with them. They just search the internet like anyone else.

Not saying if they’re right or wrong in this instance; it’s just that saying “Snopes says it’s true/false” isn’t the beall and endall of verification.
