There’s no way to make a point with you people.

"You people?" Would that mean people that don't want to give away their money, jobs, childrens' future, and country?

Pres. Bush even in the past seems real weak on any real reform. Plus, enforce the laws already on the books and the US doesn’t need another immigration bill.

Good - I hope you’re a lot happier with Hillary and Barack Hussein.

We have been loyal and tolerant of his failings, and as a reward he has betrayed us.

Very poignantly put. Very sad isn't it? And the worst part is, both parties are pulling for the NAU, Free Trade, One World whatever it is, with the exception of a few.

We are reaching the point that we can no longer grow enough food to feed our own population.

No we're not. That is ridiculous. There are plenty of legitimate complaints to make. Don't make us all look like idiots by making such moronic statements.

FFan sounds as frustrated as President Bush. He can't get his point across to the right people either.

Most of us backed him and stood up for him during these last years. I guess he was so grateful for that he is going to ram this traitorus immigration bill down our throats.

I will not defend him anymore.

Anybody know which republican presidential candidates agree with Pres. Bush here so I can cross them off my list? Who’s against it so I can highlight them?

Bush Takes On Opponents of Immigration Deal - New York Times (via Drudge link)
GLYNCO, Ga., May 29 — President Bush today accused opponents of his proposed immigration measure of fear-mongering to defeat it in Congress, and took on his own conservative political base as he did so.

“If you want to scare the American people, what you say is the bill’s an amnesty bill,” Mr. Bush said this afternoon at a training center for border enforcement agents located in this town in Georgia’s southeastern corner. “That’s empty political rhetoric, trying to frighten our citizens.”

And Fred Thompson sounds pretty opposed to it on many grounds. Perhaps our best bet. Romney gets fairly high marks though, largely because I think he does grasp the disastrous implications of chain migration to welfare programs.

You’re absolutely right in comparing recent remarks by the President on immigration to those he made regarding Harriet Myers. Then he said that conservative opponents of her nomination simply didn’t want a woman on the court. Reagan would never had said any such thing, nor would Ford or Bush the elder. But we - these opponents - essentially gave the Court Alito, and this was and remains a signal achievement.

The President is now feeding EVERY left stereotype of him: shallow, incapable of presenting reasoned arguments, bull-headed in the worst way, etc. This is a real shame, and you’d think Tony Snow would bang a bit on his tin ear and make him back up.

The President is going to end up with less than 25% popular support because of this. He is not simply challenging his base; he is rubbing their nose in it. And no base is ever going to tolerate it, and this includes me.

If Cheney is against this illegal alien amnesty, I’d prefer his resignation, not his silence.

Why?

>>Can anyone defend Bush anymore? When your liberal friends trash him do you fight back? I can’t nor will I. <<

Our other choices were Gore and Kerry.
My FRiend, we had no choice.

That’s what I say.
