“some of whom warn that Giuliani backers are abandoning core principles.”

Rudy Giuliani is not running for Pope or National Preacher. It seems that some conservatives don’t understand that.

But he IS running for president -- and he's a big-government globalist who has a pathlogical dislike of rights enshrined in the U.S. Constitution and a well-documented radical left-wing track record on far too many issues.

Other than that, he's a great candidate.

It is hard to believe that the GOP has nearly destroyed itself in a few short years. McCain Feingold was the beginning of the end, then the attempts to out-liberal the Democrats, then we are ready for a liberal Republican in Rudy, but in the end we won’t have to worry because once Bush signs the immigration bill the GOP dies quickly.

"Rudy Giuliani is not running for Pope or National Preacher. It seems that some conservatives don’t understand really that."

Oh really? So I should throw my principals out the window? I'm not a religious man but I know when some stances are just wrong.

Is it just about winning at any cost or backing a candidate who shares your views?

I will not compromise and I will not go quietly into the night.

Rudi is not my choice, period.

Rudy Giuliani wants to run for president of the USA - THAT I understand.

The only potential candidates I'd put after Rudy are Ron Paul and McPain.

Otherwise, it's an open field.

Exactly! They want a prez to do what is the Church’s responsibility. The Church has taken a back seat yet has no problem dictating ‘core principles’ regarding social issues for some else. If the members of the Christian Church had been doing their job all along - there would be very few abortions. But then, again, there are many ‘liberal’ churches. Now, in Canada, preachers are forbidden to speak out about homosexuality. Government wants to be our church and it’s been allowed.

I'm pretty sure we understand that.

Why don't you just come out and say it?

Why did you post this?

What do you want us to do, fall in behind Rudy?

“Rudy Giuliani is not running for Pope or National Preacher. It seems that some conservatives don’t understand that.”

Quite the contrary, with all due respect. We know what he is running for. Most of us, even though we may personally feel a lot of respect for Rudy for his 9/11 part, can’t vote for him. And I do mean can’t. We take our vote very seriously, and cannot in good conscience pull that lever. We, unlike a lot of Americans, have not evolved on morals integrity, character, trust, good judgment and what constitutes all those things. Those things are fixed, or core values. And we have not ever given up on the notion that leaders are to be held to a higher standard. Do many in WA? No, but those of us who wouldn’t and couldn’t vote for Rudy, did not vote for them either.

It isn’t about the person when it comes to like and dislike, it is about the country, what’s best for it, and expecting a higher standard, especially when it comes to CIC! Unfortunately that leaves out all of the top tier, and even a couple who may enter the race but haven’t yet. Whether we like them or not.

He may not be running for pope, but I expect him not to be a shill for abortionists or a gun grabber. Rudy gets my vote approximately the same time hell freezes over. RINOs can kiss my butt. I wish the media would stop trying to anoint this creep. He’s a “republican” like Hitlery is “compassionate and warm.”
