I thought that was a little weird, too, unless they had been boiled so long they were hard as bullets.

Well, if you are allergic, I guess it would be. Or maybe they were hard boiled? ;^)
Seriously, though, I doubt the kids will be punished. For all I know, their parents sent them out there to do it. It is Massachusetts, after all. Kudos to the Color Guard for staying the course, and yay to the police for actually chasing the little punks. They should be glad it wasn’t me that chased them.

-They should be punished but its hard for me to see an egg as a, dangerous weapon. Agreed. In a reasonable world, they'd get their butts whipped by their parents and be drug by their parents in front of those Marines to apologize in addition to being charged with disorderly conduct.
A sincere apology by these teens to the veterans who show up at the courthouse today would be a good first step by these kids in making amends.
Since thirteen year-olds sometimes do incredibly stupid things, this may not have been an intentional affront to our armed forces, but it sure seems that way, and obviously doesn't suggest good things about their upbringing either.

They should be punished but its hard for me to see an egg as a, dangerous weapon. When it cuts your eye it will.

dangerous weaponObjects thrown some distance would probably be traveling about 50 mi/h or more. An egg in the eye would not be good.
