McClatchy Washington Bureau ^ | May. 27, 2007 | Steven Thomma

Posted on 05/27/2007 10:30:29 AM PDT by Clintonfatigued

Just a few weeks ago, advisers to Mitt Romney spoke about a steady, gradual climb from obscurity to the 2008 Republican presidential nomination.

Now, Romney has rocketed from behind and is leading the race or is neck and neck for the lead in the pivotal states of Iowa and New Hampshire.

Listen I like Mitt. Every time I say this people come at ,me and ask if I am a Catholic which I am. They get on my back about his religion which I admit I never studied and know very little about. If he is the nominee, I would not complain. The least they (the party could do) is put him in as the VP. The man shares a lot of my values and I agree he is a clean living man. Maybe that is why they do not want him ( the press that is ) nothing dirty to write about.

Your source shows that liberal propoganda from the lying Boston Globe and DNC works on conservatives (unfortunately).

Romney vs. Romney (Answering DNC, Boston Globe, Newsmax, SLTribunes lies about Romney)

Follow the link for specific factual lies and myths the article you linked perpetuates (From actual conservative sources).

Yes, and get this statistic:

Only about 14.3% of Americans were born on Wednesday!

How can either of these guys hope to connect with us Non-humpday Americans???

Nice try at obfuscation. The fact of the matter is Romney is a RINO. He can't hide from his record and his recent statements on homosexuality have only verified what his record shows.

Romney Supports Tolerance for Gays, But Not Public Servants Who Speak Against Homosexuality

Romney sycophants can try all they want but the Romney will be exposed for the phony he is.

I’m not sure of exactly what you’re trying to say, restornu...

No “group” (I use “ “ because often people change on their own, it’s not a a solid group like those of like ethnicity, or a definible group like a group of like minded religious believers.) of people solely classified by a particular vice, fetish, deviance, or mental illness should have particular respect solely because of that infirmity or deviance.

We should be compassionate and offer them hope that they can change. Should society offer “respect” to any other group of people with fetishes, specific sexual deviant practices, etc?

The Carmenker article you provided was the main link on the DNC website under Romney for months. Do you enjoy linking DNC promoted marterial? Are you trying to assert that Carmenker didn’t lie? B/C I can prove he did.

“Appearance counts; primarily to people who are shallow in their thinking and not particularly informed.

Uh, I think that these people are called swing voters. It would be pretty useful to have the shallow frothy feelings working in the GOP favor for once.”

I’m with you on that. Is it a bad thing to have someone who looks the part? No.

Sorry.. won’t work. Romney is a RINO. His record shows he’s a RINO. A total social liberal. His love affair with the homosexual agenda is dangerous. His own words prove it. Dueling articles won’t change that. Trying to label everything as a sinister liberal plot won’t change who Romney is. You can’t turn a dung heap into a perfume factory by pointing to a dumpster across the street.

Yes, but 100% of Americans were conceived on humpday.

Did I really say that on Free Republic or did I just think it?

You need to work on your “out loud” voice.

Please don't take my words out of contexts!

It serves no purpose to publicly scorn, did you ever hear of-

A Guilty Conscience Needs No Accuser!

We should be compassionate and offer them hope that they can change. Should society offer “respect” to any other group of people with fetishes, specific sexual deviant practices, etc?

Is there some law you can’t be civil towards another human being?

What is your concept of being compassionate?

Being contenious towards another because they are imperfect?

Did not Jesus say he who is with out sin cast the first stone?

Shame on you You may not look like one but you sure talk like one! (dung heap)

Amazing I look at you picture and listen to what you say and I say to myself is that the same person?

You Can say Romney is a rino until you are blue in the face and it won't make true!

Be thankful none of your children or grand children etc. are not afflicted with SSA.

Therefore the grace for God go I!

He meant actually throwing stones, not condemning behaviors which ought to be condemned. People misuse that incident and quote constantly.

I’m not trying to take your words out of context; just trying to figure out what you were saying and respond accordingly. Maybe be clearer in what your message is.

Are you saying that the homosexual agenda should not be condemned?

I’m not talking at all about civility, I’m talking about laws mandating that homosexuals should have special rights and/or protections because they’re homosexuals. It is unconstitutional and totalitarian to force citizens to hire, rent to or otherwise associate with homosexuals.

Just as it would be to force citizens to hire, rent to etc alcoholics, drug addicts, prostitutes, and other wrong doers.

Ever heard of “freedom of association”?

Hard to believe its the same person. How quickly one moves from castigating one poster for casting stones to casting your own.

I wasn’t the one calling Romeny (dung heap) you were and to say that back to you is not a sin!

The sin here being discussed is trying to lable Romney because he won’t be uncharitable!

It is your own words that your are trying to malign him with and it seems you don’t like it!

Nice try anyways!:)

Romney has been moderately liberal on some issues in the past. He has always been conservative about others. The obvious one is his Pro-life conversion. I am not claiming that Mitt has never said anything that FReepers wouldn’t call liberal. FReepers love to call everything liberal.

Carmenker however, is a liar and in bed with the DNC.

I never called McRomney a dung heap. I was pointing out the error of the posters argument by using an analogy. Evidently when one is such a sycophant for a candidate as you appear to be it causes a knee-jerk reaction so you fail to recognize the difference between calling someone a name and using an analogy.

Romney’s looks are what I like in a man, tall, dark and handsome. Fred looks like a bulldog to me. Of course, we discuss looks to avoid mentioning qualifications, because Fred has NONE.

No matter who becomes President, we will hate him/her. And deservedly so. America’s political class is producing people of the lowest moral character and executive competence in history. They are all a bunch of whores. Bush is a whore for the Arabs and Mexicans. Kerry would have been a whore for the unions, trial lawyers and Chinese. Repulsive and detestable, the lot of ‘em.
