But it looks like the amnesty bill is in danger. There is a real backlash against it.
In the end I’m afraid the backers are going to push it through.I’m concerned about the country’s reaction,there’s no way to predict how bad that reaction could become.
It will pass the Senate and barely get squashed in the House. Sad isn't it?
The intended consequences are bad enough, Only God knows what might happen with the unintended consequences.

Thompson says deporting the illegal who are here is "unrealistic."
That disqualifies both of them.
So at the moment, Hunter looks like the only half-way viable candidate.
This is pretty scarry:

Here’s what REAL Immigration Reform will look like:
1: Deport ALL illegals IMMEDIATELY
2: Close the borders IMMEDIATELY. Use deadly force. Some may die but not many as word will get out.
3: PAYBACK TIME FOR MEXICO:
A: Demand repayment for all services and support payments issued to illegals from Mexico. This includes repayment for incarceration expenses of Mexican citizens.
B: Demand that taxes be paid on ALL money sent to Mexico, with penalties and interest. The IRS is
really good at tracking down this type of thing, let them work on it.
4: LET MEXICO REPAY THE U.S. IN OIL. They have LOTS of oil, and the U.S. needs cheap oil.
5: There will be NO immigration from Mexico until the balance is paid.
6: The U.S. and it’s citizens will boycott Mexico and products made in Mexico until the repayment is complete.
7: Keep the borders closed. THERE WILL BE NO MORE ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.
Duncan Hunter has been THE most effective candidate in securing our borders:
“Duncan Hunter originated the fence along the Mexico-U.S. border decades ago in order to cut down crime against illegal immigrants. Today, that fence (a double fence) is 14 miles long. It has cut smuggling (people and drugs) over 90% and has drastically reduced the 10/year murder rate of illegal immigrants by removing the mobility of the cross border criminal gangs. It has eliminated the major cross border drug automobile chases. The crime rate in San Diego as a whole is 44% as compared to the pre-fence crime rate. A large scale extension of the fence (700 miles long) was authorized in the 2006 bill “Secure Fence Act of 2006”. His efforts over some 20 plus years have brought the fence to be considered as a major instrument of immigration policy and border control.”

Good place to bump this thread. I hope Hunter gets some traction from this issue.
Two out of three ain't bad.

I agree. But, I’m worried that those who are trying to push the bill are getting time to undercut the effort to kill this.
I seriously hope that everyone who is truly against the amnesty bill has already called their Representative and Senators...and if not, that you do it immediately. I’d also suggest that those who have called do it again.
We need to keep the pressure up to kill this, because those on the other side certainly are working the phones and the media...hard!
I would like to change that to,
4: Let Mexico refine our oil since our idiot Government's refuse to allow more refineries.
Imagine the cost of gas if our oil was refined on the border in Mexico.
Suck on that one GORE!
