The saga is over.
Rosie O'Donnell will not be returning to "The View."
In a statement today, Brian Frons, the president of Disney-ABC's Daytime Television Group, said, "We had hoped that Rosie would be with us until the end of her contract three weeks from now, but Rosie has informed us that she would like an early leave. Therefore, we part ways, thank her for her tremendous contribution to 'The View' and wish her well."
Barbara Walters, the show's creator and co-executive producer, said, "I brought Rosie to the show. Rosie contributed to one of our most exciting and successful years at 'The View.' I am most appreciative. Our close and affectionate relationship will not change."
In her statement, O'Donnell said, "I'm extremely grateful. It's been an amazing year and I love all three women."
And on her Web site Thursday, O'Donnell wrote: "When painting there is a point u must step away from the canvas as the work is done."
O'Donnell announced at the end of April she was leaving "The View," and her last day was supposed to be June 20.

She's gone :::: BUT....
Once in a while people get fed up, and fight back. You could see Elizabeth was truly angry, while Rosie looks disconcerted.
I guess that just shows how off-balance Rosie is. Like many celebrities, she’s used to the kooks telling her how wonderful she is, and in her self centered world, never thinks about the mess she leaves. She really believes all the tripe. She’s truly a deficient person.
Thanks .. that picture finally does Rosie Justice.
LOL! Rosie’s looking better already...
no clue when it is on here....but I am pretty sure that it interfers with my Limbaugh listening time.....which is when I clean my house, no time for sitting and watching anyone (other than the kids of course)
No offense, but I'm kinda tired of hearing this sort of faint praise for Elisabeth Hasselbeck. She signed up to do a non-political show about girl-talk. Sure, it was always clear she was a Christian and political conservative, but that was simply incidental. Mostly, she was simply the classiest lady on the show.
It wasn't until Rosie was on the show that it became a political megaphone for Rosie and Joy Behar. It's not fair for us to expect Elisabeth to be our conservative spokesperson and warrior. That being the case, I believe she deserves real praise and respect for finally saying enough is enough, and calling O'Donnell on her anti-American lunacy. Enough with the "lightweight" stuff. She did real good, and we should be proud of her for representing sane America.
SHE is done! I think the sponsors of the program said NO MORE and she’s outta there. I will miss her so much (NOT).
They REALLY need Ann Coulter on that show. Can you imagine her and Rosie going at it day by day????
Omigosh. That’s almost perfect. Good job!
“My 95 year old mother had an excuse. She was bedridden and loved screaming, Morons! at the tv, while she was on hold with her broker.”
ROFLMAO! I have a mother-in-law like that, age 91.
So long Rosie!
You nailed it Tim
She has this TV career and has a little one on the way. Just a guess here, she doesn't have the time to listen to Bennett, Ingraham etc, etc and be on the cusp of all the issues. When the pitter patter of little feet arrive, that time to listen may be even less. But more importantly she showed great courage standing up to Rosie.
The thoughts that come relative to O’Donnell, none complimentary:
Obese
Insecure
Hateful
Disgusting
Repulsive
Self-Absorbed
Left Wing Democrat
Self-Destructive
Eventually, Suicidal
She sure is!
Honestly, what kind of person thinks like this?
What a wonderful pair...You suppose she wears contacts?
hey...how is the weather over there in MIA?
we heard you had a bad blow sitting off the coast today???
As much as I love Elisabeth Hasselbeck, shes an intellectual lightweight,
I totally agree. There were so many times when I wished that Elisabeth could articulate her thoughts completely and give Rosie a verbal can of whipa$$. I think she finally did it with the last argument. Pregnancy makes your senses sharper and your fuse shorter.
Astute observation....
what would you give to see Ann Coulter on the panel...
sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet! LOL
