I can sum it up in two words: CHEAP LABOR. Congress and the president are looking to induct a new crop of serfs who work cheaper than the citizens and have no upward mobility because they’ll never learn English. They’ll die being waiters, janitors, and manual labor.
Actually, this guy says its about government power and prestige.
Makes sense, too.
But, while they may not move up, they continue to have children that will sap your life essence and you will pay and pay and pay for them.
AND, fill our schools with poorly prepared kids who were 'medicated' thru medicaid and the 'free' emergency rooms, while eating foods purchased with food stamps?
The corollary to this is that wages for American citizens will fall. Employers have only so many paths to increase profits. The easiest is to reduce labor costs by hiring those who will work for lower wages.
I'll give you two other words: INCUMBENCY POLITICS.
As Arias-King is describing the underlying motivation, "comprehensive immigration reform" is more about creating a new class of electorate than anything else.
Specifically, a DEPENDENT electorate that will dutifully serve the purposes of the political class.
I give you two more words why: MORE VOTES.
You claim “cheap labor” as REASON for the amnesty and pro-bring-in-all-their-families PROMOTIONS within the Bush-Kennedy-McCain pro-Mexican law, but think abiout it: Cheap Labor is ONLY possible when the laborers are intimidated and available for cheap wages.
See, AS SOON SA the Mexican illegal alien becomes legal (the day after the law passes!) he has no reason to work any cheaper than any American citizen.
in fact, those millions of “cheap labor” illegal aliens have EVERY REASON in the world (revenge!) to bring their previous employers to the unions, to the government, to the IRS, and to the state and local hiring Dept of Labor to FINE the (formerly) cheap employers for back Social Security, back taxes, back health insurance, back unemployment insurance, and back wages as they DEMAND immediate minimum (Maximum!) wages for working the next day.
And, the day after the Bush-Kennedy-McCain illegal immigration promotion act passes, NONE of the current illegal aliens have ANY reason to work. They can sit down, bring in their families, and call for welfare.
If only it were so simple.
