Slavery existed almost a hundred years under the Stars and Stripes, but I guess this ignorant writer doesn’t know that.

Yep, and the Democratic Party was A Okay with it, even during the war, as late as the 1864 election cycle, which feature George McClellan as their Presidential nominee. McClellan pledged to end the war, and allow the South to form its own nation and maintain slavery.
I’ve found it stunning the ‘black leaders’ don’t show up at Gettysburg every July....and at Antietam/Sharpsburg, and Shiloh, and Vicksburg and of course Appromatox every April.
Wasn’t 600,000 dead, and 1.2 million wounded enough?
Slavery existed for almost two hundred years under the Union Jack in original Colonies. BTW, I'm a Carpet Bagger living in North Carolina and consider the Stars and Bars to be an important part of the history of the United States and the South. There are many flags that have flown over different parts of our country since people who respect flags discovered the Americas and they represent everything that makes us better that the rest of the world.
The confederacy freed the slaves before the Union did.
The Stars and Bars simply stood for a system of government which respected the rights of states and the people within them to decide their own local laws.
The War of Northern Aggression has been rewritten to promote Big City gangster mentality of love for one’s fellow man before love for God over small southern town hard work ethic treating a love for God first, followed by love for one’s fellow man.
Now the entire nation is mired down in Yankee mentality, never thinking states rights were significant.
