i am guessing here but i doubt all the food was labeled cheap dog/cat food

i bet some was being sold as you would like gourmet

but did not check that so you could be rigth

Yes, some of it was sold by formerly respectable brands (IAMS and Eukaneuba) but those brands were bought out by Procter and Gamble who obviously only care about profit.
