KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Bloggers and media critics are complaining that the national media has ignored the rape and murder of a young Knoxville couple because of the racial implications of the story.
Channon Christian, a 21-year-old University of Tennessee student, and her boyfriend, Christopher Newsom, 23, were raped, tortured and killed in January. Separate trial dates were set Thursday for four people charged in the slayings.
Online critics have angrily insisted that reporters are ignoring the story because the victims are white and the defendants are black.
"I am not going to call it reverse racism," said country singer Charlie Daniels, who has written on his Web page about how little he has heard of the case in Nashville, about 150 miles west of Knoxville. "But I will say it is very selective (journalism).

‘Stunning’ is referenced to double standards in society is like expressing gas mileage for vehicles in micro liters per angstrom.

Happily Bill Hemmer just ran a segment on this on FOX news.
"proceeded to sodomize Chris Newsom in front of Channon before they emasculated him and shot him in the head. He was then “bound and his body wrapped up in bedding and set afire,” prior to being “discarded like trash along nearby railroad tracks.”
According to Vanessa Coleman, after they tired of torturing and raping Channon, the men urinated on her, and poured “cleaning chemicals” into her mouth and down her throat in an effort to destroy the physical evidence they had left behind. They then inexplicably cut off her breasts, dismembered her body and threw it in a trash can at the residence.
This story merits national attention.
I think it’s pretty obvious why.
The media want everyone to think that whites are racist, and that they murder, rape and plunder non-whites.
When an incident happens that conflicts with their agenda, they suppress it.
Note this brilliant journalist. Interracial crime...criminal and victim are of the same race. Hmmmm, his own statement underscores his stupidity and, of course, hypocrisy.
Just like the Charles-Rust Tierney case (ACLU president with child torture porn - what, you didn’t hear about that?), the media does not report it because it does nothing good for their agenda.
The DBM with it’s “selective” journalism is driving the growth of forums such as FR. We tell the truth here.
This is true evil. The media don’t want you to believe there is true evil in the world. These scum should be hung today.
I don’t have access to TV right now, but thankfully at least one national outlet covered it. If only these beasts had been on a LaCrosse team.

No biggie. The DBM was able to ignore a similar story in 2001 in Wichita, Kansas. The only big difference in the stories is that the Wichita incident had more than two victims.
