GOP Sellout- A senseless giveaway on immigration.
National Review Online ^ | 05/17/07 | Brian Darling

“Sellout.” It may be harsh, but it’s the most accurate and succinct way to sum up how conservatives feel right now about President Bush and Senate Republicans, who have cut a deal that would grant amnesty to the estimated 12 million illegal aliens living in the U.S. — not to mention the parents, spouses, and children of these illegals.

Title VI of a draft copy of the bill breaks down amnesty visas into three categories:

Z-1 — Illegal aliens present and working in the United States up to Jan. 1, 2007. Z-2 — Parents and spouses of illegal aliens qualifying under the Z-1 category. Z-3 — Children of illegal aliens qualifying under the Z-1 category.

These “Z Visa” holders can stay in the “Z” status indefinitely, which means they never have to pursue “a pathway to citizenship.” They also would be able to get Social Security numbers and benefit from some welfare programs. Shockingly, there is no cap on the numbers of amnesty recipients in the draft language. The only thing the Z Visa holder can’t do is vote — until, that is, a liberal judge declares this limitation unconstitutional or until a liberal president can railroad through a “technical corrections” bill.

This is the brining of the end if we don’t speak out in every way, fax, e mail, and phone calls, Telling our feckless leaders who are infavor of this bill that amnesty is unacceptable and if you don’t believe me wait until election day! This bill will ultimately destroy America from within. This amnesty bill will give illegals access to Medicare, social security, welfare, free college tuition help (and god knows what else they are hiding in this bill) and in return the taxes they will pay, if they pay at all, is a drop in the bucket compared to the monies given to send their kids to school, housing food, medical services and educational services. . We are allowing highschool drop outs and thier families a free ride at the tax payers expense, and I am mad as hell!!
WHAT THE HELL IS BUSH THINKING? CLOSE THE BORDERS! NO AMNESTY! YOU HAVE TO EARN THE RIGHT TO BE AN AMERICAN NOT GIVEN IT ON A SILVER PLATTER.

I agree that speaking out is important. Thanks for reminding me that I can still put a stamp on an envelope. I’ll do it.

There is also the theory that we need to keep up with China and the rest of the world for population and military. So we look the other way and allow illegals to come in...Lord knows the conditions in the U.S. military far outweigh those of others in the 3rd world.

Those pushing this amnesty now are telling the same LIE they told in 1986—Amnesty now, enforcement later...They have absolutely NO intention on enforcing our sovereignty and immigration laws. The proof in that is that they absolutely refuse to enforce our sovereignty and immigration laws now.

That is EACTLY right. Past performance IS the best predictor of future behavior. Our "leaders" certainly have plans for us -- but these plans can't be disclosed until after they have been implemented, for obvious reasons.

That’s what I’m thinking! I pray for our troops and today they have to learn about this?

I do know the Enemy wants us discouraged and feeling like it’s hopeless, but like my tag line says...

We got sold this bill of goods back in the 80's. Amnesty was going to solve all our problems... yeah right...

Amen.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Dear Republicans:

No more amnesty for YOU!

I’ve stuck with our president through it all. While disappointed sometimes, I hung in...

I’m done.

I guess today Bush is unequivocally and officially a Lame Duck...(emphasis on Lame). I wonder how much lower his approval rating will go. I really hate to see this.

I have conservative friends, I have moderate friends, and I have (a few) liberal friends. I have yet to hear a single one who agrees with Jorge Arbusto’s plan. Something like 75% of Americans in surverys are against Shamnesty. And yet he and congress continue to push on.

“This “Sellout” has the effect of electing a liberal democrat for sure in ‘08!”

The longterm consequences to our nation will be far worse than a lost election.

Six hundred years ago in medieval Europe, most people lived and died as slaves (sometimes called serfs) bound to the land they worked and bound to the feudal lords who ruled them.

The serfs had no rights. Their masters could seize anything they owned and even put them in prison if they didn’t pay whatever was demanded.

How much did these oppressed Medieval serfs actually pay in taxes? The answer is about 25 percent of what they earned. Historians believe that the typical serf had to “pay” 25 percent of his produce, usually from agricultural efforts, to his feudal lord. What remained was his bounty.

which means they never have to pursue “a pathway to citizenship.”

The kids they have here will be citizens (same as it is now).
