GOP Sellout- A senseless giveaway on immigration.
National Review Online ^ | 05/17/07 | Brian Darling

“Sellout.” It may be harsh, but it’s the most accurate and succinct way to sum up how conservatives feel right now about President Bush and Senate Republicans, who have cut a deal that would grant amnesty to the estimated 12 million illegal aliens living in the U.S. — not to mention the parents, spouses, and children of these illegals.

Title VI of a draft copy of the bill breaks down amnesty visas into three categories:

Z-1 — Illegal aliens present and working in the United States up to Jan. 1, 2007. Z-2 — Parents and spouses of illegal aliens qualifying under the Z-1 category. Z-3 — Children of illegal aliens qualifying under the Z-1 category.

These “Z Visa” holders can stay in the “Z” status indefinitely, which means they never have to pursue “a pathway to citizenship.” They also would be able to get Social Security numbers and benefit from some welfare programs. Shockingly, there is no cap on the numbers of amnesty recipients in the draft language. The only thing the Z Visa holder can’t do is vote — until, that is, a liberal judge declares this limitation unconstitutional or until a liberal president can railroad through a “technical corrections” bill.

I would probably do the same thing in your position..
I’ve stuck with our president through it all. While disappointed sometimes, I hung in...

I’m done.

“I just paid a bunch of money to go to a fundraiser with the President-I am seriously thinking about asking for my $ back.”

Forget it. Look at it as an expensive lesson in stupidity never to be repeated.

"Harsh?" Way too kind a term. "Treason" would be far more accurate. Every Senator voting YES on that piece of garbage is a traitor, pure and simple. As for the GOP, if they thought the 2006 midterms were bad news, wait until they see 2008. The conservative base, or what's left of it, will be gone and largely irretrievable.

I just finished watching Lou Dobbs. Tony Snow was on trying to sell this amnesty bill. Tonight the whole crew of the White House will be on Wolfie show trying to sell this mess, I think Chernoff and probably Snow or Guiterriz. Lou Dobbs also showed a portion of the bigwigs who supported this monstrosity Kennedy, Spectre, the nut from South Carolina, Feinstein, etc. All these jacka$$es that are selling us out were in Congress for the last 20 years and did nothing to enforce Reagans bill that said the employers were to be penalized. These jacka$$es need to be impeached.

One would almost think it was planned that way. The end result of passing an amnesty bill against the wishes of the American people could be, unfortunately, violence. Then what do we get? Martial law?

I think they're banking on the fact that unemployment rate is so low (4.x%), so people will tend not to protest, riot, etc. (most don't want to 'upset their own applecart') But, considering this could be almost undoubtedly the most agregious breach of national security ever, citizens ought to be out in the tens of millions protesting this. All public conservative leaders should be calling for the President's impeachment if he signs this 'law'.

To be honest, I’m hoping for a coup at this point because I honestly have lost hope that someone with a clue in congress decides to lead an impeachment at this point to stop this.

I know it could spell the end of the republic. Sadly though, this is what the sound of civilizations commiting suicide is.

It’s been a good run.

"Back to the ballot box to throw all these traitors and worthless scum out of office."

If your own people don't speak for you. (Whose district are you in?)

Or no ballot box! And no jury duty! I'm hopeless in the north San Fernando Valley which is now Waxman's district thanks to the CA GOP. I'm off the voter rolls until next year (maybe).

My last time on jury duty was a case over one illegal alien shooting another illegal alien over an underage girl. They are lucky they didn't even ask me questions for selection. I'm ex-AF. My first would be "So this is about one cabron shooting another cabron over a chicka?" I would be told to leave.

This is the kind of jury duty you will be asked to perform; after missing work and gas and your own money to get there. Pffft!

There should be no citizenship for these people ever unless they return home and go about it the legal way.

I AGREE.

I don’t mind them coming here temporarily to work though.

I DO NOT AGREE. Let them clean up their own mess first. I am sick of the Sureños, their anti-Anglo attitudes with their leftist, anti-USA mentality...

Here is what makes me sick.

Our military is on the OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD - and we are being invaded here, right now.

The culture of the United States (that I knew from growing up here) will be gone in 10 years - guaranteed. It is really tragic.

This is the not conservative, or republican, this is neo-con! The party was hijacked by RINO’s!

Congress really seems to like this. So does the 9th circuit. And so does President Bush. Something's amiss.
