Filibusters can be an appropriate tool.

Just not for Court nominees, who deserve an up or down vote, according to long-standing Senate Rules.

if we can get a response on LEGAL immigration such as H1B visas.

H1B visas are really not part of the legal immigration program except that employers can sponsor employees for a green card to extend the six year limitation. H-1B Work Visa Frankly, H1Bs bring in the kinds of people that help our ecnomony than the self-selected ones that come across the border. I believe that Hunter is still for keeping the current limitation of 65,000 per year.

You may wish to ask him where he stands on H.R. 938: Nuclear Family Priority Act

The legal immigration reform I am referring to has to do with chain migration and how we select people to come into the country. Canada has a points system that is used to bring in the skills and talents the country needs. We need to adopt something similar and get away from chain migration.

legal immigration, which in the long run is far more dangerous to this country’s future.

Legal immigration has been tilted to favor those who have no cultural connectedess with the US, encouraging a balkanization of this country.

Belay the last. Hunter is one of the sponsors of H.R. 938.

We also need you to contact your friends, non FReepers and other acquaintances and have them write too. The objective is to start a chain reaction like what happens to fissile material in a nuclear reactor.

It is late. Mr Duncan supported HR 938, not Duncan Hunter, so my question stands.

I have to emphatically agree with you on the issue of chain-immigation, and the elderly that are brought in by families, and put on SSI and Medicaid, with Senior-Assisted Housing subsidies to boot.

These are not only Hispanics, but Asians, who are quick to embrace all their financial "rights" once they get here.

It makes me see red, when I see this drain on the public treasury by those who never contributed one dime.

Everybody needs to make phone calls. NumbersUSA.com says they’re hearing from congresscritters that they aren’t getting many protest calls so they are assuming it’s OK with their constituents to go with amnesty.

SO EVERYBODY START CALLING YOUR CONGRESSCRITTERS TOMORROW AND CALL THEM OFTEN UNTIL THEY GET THE MESSAGE!!

Both my senators, Dole and Burr, are for total amnesty and open borders. But I will call and call and call...

Agreed. Since abortion is taking away from a steady workforce, we have to have a more merit-based legal immigration system. Canada isn’t entirely based on merit.

I think fundamentally we have to have people that come-in when industries have wage excessively rising ie far past inflation. Our baby-boomers are retiring, and it would be better if we had a productive class to replace them. Not low-skilled workers whom benefit from our progressive policies.

It's game over.

One of the conditions that the 'cabal' made with the rulers of the then collapsing USSR was that we would take steps to bring this nation down to the level of oh say Portugal?

What easier way than to bring in 130 million Third world Peasants who have no education or even loyalty to this nation.

Before anyone calls tin foil hat on this ask yourself why Bush is bringing in so many people whose historic voting pattern is for tax and spend Democrats?

Ya we all got sucked in with his tax cuts and BS, but history will show the Bush clan destroyed what was once a great nation. Of course they will rationalize it as there is no more USSR, we don't need to be strong.

They also feel China will always remain a trade partner and will succumb to the benefits of capitalism where they will make more money. That's why Dubya kowtowed to China when they grabbed our P-3 Navy plane.

You can’t stop it. You couldn’t stop Nafta or Gatt. You couldn’t get anybody to listen about term limits.

Why should immigration be any different?
