I really think the Autobahn might be a bad example. The Autobahn is so meticulously designed and maintained that triple digit speeds are not a problem. Our roads are not so well designed and maintained.

I’m not arguing for lower speed limits and I certainly do not advocate cruising in the left lane, but, I do think you should choose your comparisons very carefully.

This is FR - and nobody else on this thread seems to be doing such, so why should I buck the trend? ;)

Jawohl, designed for 1935! On the older autobahnen they have very tightly radiused curves. Also, you have never lived or might die until you have been in a 100 car fog pile up on the Autobahn.

BTW, German drivers are meticulous in obeying in-town rules. A good lesson here for us untermenschen in Amerika.
