[BTW: Thank you for giving us a ‘sneak peak’ into the President’s schedule for next week — the Bush-Blair press conference should be one for the history books!]

Hi Deb. You are most welcome. Yes, I'll be at work at the time, but I hope to see it on C-SPAN later that evening.

I know that as a member of the Labour Party, Tony Blair is a Leftist on many issues. I don't think that he was good for Britain on many domestic issues. But regarding the War on Terrorism, he was as staunch an ally as we could have ever hoped for in these times. For that, and for his befriending our President, I will always be grateful to Tony Blair.

However, in retirement, he is planning to turn "Algore" on us. :(

I think in retirement especially with the dems in control of congress you may well see Blair ally more with left wing in Washington. I think also there maybe some sort of friendship with GWB, the cynic in me says that Blair plays both sides to get the publicity and now the speaking engagements he wants both sides of the Atlantic.

I think he may also work more with Clinton on various economic and climate conferences.

Like you I will always be grateful for Blair's stance re WOT but wonder at some of the motives but in a way that is not important if it has worked out for the best for our 2 nations and the world.
