Re: Statement re Democratic National Committee
Dear Mr Robinson:
We are writing on behalf of our client, the Democratic National Committee (DNC).
A post by coffee260 on FreeRepublic.com today states that this morning, on the Quinn & Rose show on XM, co-host Quin stated that the DNC chairman, Gov. Howard Dean had called Gov Kathleen Sebelius (D-Kans) around 5:00am on morning after a tornado destroyed the town of Greensburg, Kansas and discussed with here what to say about the tornado and how to blame the war in Iraq and the Bush administration on a slow response to the aftermath.
The statement was made by Mr Quinn, repeated on FreeRepublic, is demonstrably, unequivocally and absolutely false. Gov Dean had no such conversation with Gov Sebelius, ever.
No effort was made by FreeRepublic to contact anyone at the DNC for comment or to check the accuracy of these statements before they were published. FreeRepublic not only repeated this statement, but further stressed that Quinns source was extremely reliable and in a position that would give him direct knowledge of these revelations.
The statements quoted above are false and defamatory, are libelous and slanderous and clearly threaten to interfere with the DNCs operations and ability to solicit support and raise funds by predjuding the organization in the eyes of the Democratic Party supporters and the public. For these reasons, we demand that FreeRepublic immediately cease and desist from Further dissemination of the above quoted statements or any statements similar in substance and immediately post a retraction of these statements in a location on its web pages at least as prominent as that on which the original story appeared.
Please let us know by noon, May 11, 2007, whether you intend to comply with these requests.
Thanks for your time and immediate attention to this important matter.
Sincerely yours,
(Signature)

Attention: Station Manager
We are writing on behalf of our client, the Democratic National Committee (”DNC”). It has come to the DNC’s attention that your station is running, or is about to run, an advertisement, entitled “Blowing in the Wind”, sponsored by the Club for Growth PAC. The advertisement attacks Senator John F. Kerry, the Democratic Party nominee for President of the U.S.

What is next? Wait, I know, if I thought that a conversation happened between Dean and the Gov. of Kansas wherein Dean asked the Gov to take actions in the face of a disaster so as to gain political advantage, if I thought that, then I will probably be getting a letter from the DNC asking me to cease and desist from thinking that. I must cease and desist from thinking Howard Dean is a screaming nut job. I love Big Brother.
Oh, and PS to the DNC Stalinist pile of dung who sent this letter, JimRob is not responsible for my opinion, I am. JimRob provides a forum where I express my opinion. He is no more responsible for the opinion I express than the owner of a side walk would be if I where to choose to shout my opinion there. Although, I am sure you are busy figuring out a way to prevent me from doing that as well.
GMT of course, particularly if Scottish law is being invoked.
As regards your letter of May 10th: Get Stuffed.

Their address is Washington, DC, but Free Republic is based in California... in the absence of any specifics, I suppose either would work.
Of course, I don't really expect FR to file a response other than "get lost, moron", if any.
The trick is to recognize an empty threat. This is one of them.
Why does that not surprise me......
Proof that democrats neither support nor are interested in a free inquiry.
This sounds like some kind of urban legend or dream. I have been on other sites that belongs to the dems and believe me the democrats do NOT want this to be the standard. Those people are nasty and so full of hatred and malice. And they can’t talk without using the f-word. If they open this can of worms they are gonna be sorry. We can always disagree with the President and others in government but the name calling and lies that people say EVERY day from the dems, there is no comparison. I would like to ask a lawyer if I have the right to seek damages for mental cruelty for defaming our President in the time of WAR.I mean they, the dems, have me in such a state of fear and trepidation because of the troops not getting their money to fight the enemy that has SWORN to kill Americans.
OK then, Mr. Sandler, demonstrate it. Show the phone records from Dean's office & cell phone and the governor's office & cell phone and prove it didn't happen.
You know, I read that in a DNC letter, so it must be true :-)
They are afraid they have been caught with their hands in the cookie jar.

"I am coffee260!!"
I am Coffee260!
I’m coffee260!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If they thought they could get away with it, yes.
That would be my guess
(chuckle)
The DNC is a bunch of girliemen, DU is a bunch of crackpots.
And this just confirms the viewpoint.
