I have to agree. South Florida was beautiful when I was a kid -- thirty years ago. But these days it's all liberals, concrete and traffic. I lived in Miami from '92 to '94 and it was pretty hellish -- and I could be wrong, but real estate ain't cheap, especially down there. Good Cuban food though, and more cosmopolitan culture.

We've lived in the Orlando area since '02 and we love it. Sure, it's kind of frumpy, but there is a sizeable Conservative presence (not too mention a little more protection from the hurricanes by being dead center in the state.) Freep mail me if you have any specific questions.

I’ll take the Colombians in Broward over the Put, er, Puerto Rican in Whore-lando anyday of the week. Besides, the only beach in Orlando is a swamp. ;-)

Absolutely. I moved away in 80’ as it was turning into a dangerous and unsavory place for a cocky kid. I have a friend who grew up there in the 60’s and he tells me stories about paradise.
