Obama: '10,000 People Died' in Kansas Tornado
Associated Press via FOX News.com ^ | May 9, 2007

RICHMOND, Va. — Barack Obama, caught up in the fervor of a campaign speech Tuesday, drastically overstated the Kansas tornadoes death toll, saying 10,000 had died.

The death toll was 12.

"In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died — an entire town destroyed," the Democratic presidential candidate said in a speech to 500 people packed into a sweltering Richmond art studio for a fundraiser.

Obama mentioned the disaster in Greensburg, Kan., in saying he had been told by the office of Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius that the state's National Guard had been depleted by its commitment to the Iraq War.

"Turns out that the National Guard in Kansas only had 40 percent of its equipment and they are having to slow down the recovery process in Kansas," Obama said, his shirt sleeves rolled up and his head glistening with sweat.

As the Illinois senator concluded his remarks a few minutes later, he appeared to realize his gaffe.

Tornadoes are deadlier than terrorists???? Time for a global war on weather! Algore could be the supreme commander.

Piglosi has that already covered in a current bill. She's gonna have the CIA start working on global warming. I'm not making this up. The patients are running the asylum.

>What’s the magic number?
>>A magic number is a constant used to identify a file in computing. Or it could be a member of a 4-person english band

That's an easy one!
What's the frequency, Kenneth?
still's a mystery!

I was thinking more of the Black New York congress-critter who claimed that 180 MILLION slaves died on their way from Africa.

“Tornadoes are deadlier than terrorists???? Time for a global war on weather!”

“Bush knew it was coming and did nothing about. In fact, Bush planned it...the tornado was supposed to suck up all the gas from the gas stations in Kansas...to raise the price of oil...it’s all about the oil, ya know. And the tornado only killed black people. Isn’t that suspicious. And it’s the first time in history that a tornado twisted steel. Ask any engineer. I’m talking Gulf of Tonkin...Google it.” ___________RO’D

The population is listed at their website at 1885. There must have been a line to see “The world’s largest hand-dug well in Greensburg, completed in 1887, is 109 feet deep and 32 feet wide. The museum also has a 1000 pound pallasite meteorite, the largest of its kind yet discovered, on view at no charge. The gift store features primarily Kansas products and has abundant tourist information and public restrooms. “

Looks it was a nice stop on a road trip. I expect it to return.

If Obama thought that 10,000 died, why hasn’t he visited Kansas? Obviously, he doesn’t care about white people. /s

Didn’t we have a little more than two and a half million killed on 9/11?

The influenza epidemic of 1918 killed more people than World War I, about 50,000,000 vs. 16,000,000. Fact. 500,000 in the U.S.

To be a Democratic voter means to be almost totally ignorant about even the most elementary facts.

They are already preparing for the global weather war. They appropriated money for the intelligence agencies to spy on the clouds. AlGore did indeed do the same thing when he was VP. When 911 occurred, the CIA and whomever else ended the AlGore nonsense. I don’t know if it was FOX or CNN who had a story on this yesterday. It had to be FOX.
