Sorry. I have personally heard many anti-Mormon sermons preached from the pulpit.
I don’t believe you.
Sorry. I have personally heard many anti-Mormon sermons preached from the pulpit.
_________
Many? Can you do a bit more to quantify? Have you experienced this recently? In what part of the country? What specific denomination of Christianity were you attending at the times you heard these sermons?
You throw a pretty hefty (and totally non-specific) charge out there, so a little in the way of backup info would go a long way.
I think the LDS faith is so inconsequential that most churches never find a need to preach against it. Just like they don’t say anything about the Jehovah’s Witnesses. There are other issues that are more pressing.
Or visit any Christian bookstore to find many anti-Mormon books of all kinds.
“Sorry. I have personally heard many anti-Mormon sermons preached from the pulpit.”
That’s because the Mormon religion is a cult.
Any religion that teaches that Jesus was a created being, the brother of Satan, and that the members of that religion themselves will become gods who control their own universe someday is definitely not Christian no matter what’s in their “title” and can’t be compared with Catholicism, which isn’t a cult.
Having said that, I’d vote for Romney in a heartbeat because I agree with him on most issues. Besides, nobody knows what’s really in his heart nor what he’ll believe in the future anyway. I think it’s likely that God hasn’t finished with him yet.
I'm curious as to where you heard this; which denominations? I have attended evangelical churches for years, and I honestly cannot recall the word "Mormon" being uttered by a preacher.
As for Romney, my concern is not that he is LDS, it is that he ran for senate and governor as a RINO. Now all of a sudden he's conservative? At best, that leaves the DemonRats an opening to attack him as a flip-flopper.
Now if you want to talk about Walter Martin or Ed Decker or Christian authors that have written against Mormonism, that’s another affair entirely.
For the record, Mitt Romney was impressive in the recent debate. I might even consider voting for him. But spare me all the whining, and you LDS folks have been doing a lot of that here. You are pretty darn exclusive yourself. If you visited my church, nowhere in it would be off limits to you. The same can’t be said for myself and your temple.
A friend of mine just sent me a notice about his daughter’s wedding. We aren’t invited because he is LDS and it’s a Mormon wedding. I don’t want to hear this victim crap from you people. You belong to one of the richest and most secretive faiths in existence.
Sorry. I’ve been to many different churches and never heard a peep about Mormons.
I have not heard one anti-Mormon sermon.
