“Sunday after Sunday, preachers, evangelists, reverends and ministers from all Christian denominations pound the pulpit with anti-Mormon rhetoric.”

That is a damn lie!

I have attended church all my life, the only church who was ever disparaged in any service I have ever attended was the Baptist church.

You are so misinformed its ridiculous.

agreed. I can only speak from personal experience, but I have attended church in the South my entire life, and I have never heard anything of the sort.

Good point! I’ve been to Lutheran, Baptist, Methodist and Catholic services and have never heard any of them even mention Mormons.

I echo your sentiment. In my entire life I have never heard anyone from the pulpit preaching against Mormons. Even those that I knew didn’t like the LDS didn’t preach it to the congregation.

The Baptist Anti-Mormon literature being distributed throughout Cecil County, Maryland, was vicious.

I have never even heard the word "Mormon" spoken in my church. We talk about Jesus and His way for us, not Mormons.

You’re right, no one should ever say “all ministers do this or all pastors say that”. One should be more accurate and say the exact truth. Like maybe; not all, but every main stream denomination I have attended over 30 years of every Sunday attendance at one time or another the paid minister had something outrageous to say about the LDS church. Follow the money. Main stream “Christianity” in this country is a trillion dollar business. They cannot afford to tell the truth. Not all do it for the money. But, how do we know?

No its not. I was Christian for 30 years and attended various denomonations. While one pulpit may not do it every Sunday I heard it every couple of months or so. So when you put together all the thousands of churches in America "Sunday after Sunday" is accurate.

I hate to burst your bubble, but I have been to such services, and I was specifically invited because I was a Mormon and a teenager.

They apparently thought I would not have the guts to respond.

They were wrong, and so are you.

SD did not say "every sunday at every church", she said "Sunday after Sunday", and "all denominations" so if on many Sundays somebody does it, she is dead on.

Prove it does not happen...

I agree. That was an UGLY and VICIOUS smear against evangelicals. if there is anything that would change my open mind about Romney, it is that type of stuff.

I attended the same Presbyterian church for most of my life - lasted through many ministers - and not one ever said a word about LDS or any other religion for that matter. Never heard a word about LDS in other churches I was a guest at.

I will also say that having attended the local LDS church with my husband (who attended sporadically with his family growing up), I am underwhelmed by it. Too many attempts to control what I consider to be my private life. And I’m sick to death of the home teachers just popping in because they ‘happened to be in the area’ just as I’m trying to get Sunday dinner on the table. Shouldn’t they be with their own familes then? Sheesh. I’m also not impressed with *their* attempts to show me the error of my ways and that my church is no good because theirs is the Only True Church. I also not impressed with their dancing around certain subjects when I ask a question. They never fully answer anything. And yes, this is more than one HT too, over the years.

I’m not good LDS wife material, I’m afraid.
