Is it Marriotts profound religious convictions which allow that family to make millions and millions off of the porn they pipe into their hotels knowing that is what they are piping into their hotels?
Yeah, but does the family star in that porn they pipe into their hotels?
Actually, I thought I had been denying that Romney gave any indications of "profound religious convictions".
As for the porn, do you examine the theology of every other porn-piping hotel/motel chain? Or just Mormons? If you found a Presbyterian or Methodist family piping porn into their hotel rooms, would you then disqualify all Presbyterians (or Methodists) from elective office?

Thanks for your reply...I will mull it over...wish I could continue, but right now, I am awaiting a visit from a plumber, so have to get off line, and anxiously see if I am going to be bankrupt over my plumbing problem...LOL...but I will be sure to check back in, as I find this conversation very interesting...thanks again for your replies...

Prove it does. I want a list of all of the churches in America where this very morning the pastor stood up in front of the congregation and preached against Mormonism.
Now, if you follow that logically, it’s a good thing. Protestants do not follow Moronism. Mormons do.

Let me play the part of Moderator.
You two stop it! Play nice. I value the input and perspective the two of you bring to this topic. Now go to your corners....find someone else to play with.
BTW I raised five children. If you don’t straighten up, I will tell your father! :-D

Mormons are very, very good at being good people. Many are very, very bad at humility and admitting their own sins. They are proud as one poster put it. They do not look to the Savior for salvation...
So...you're saying they're just like other churches?
Just kidding. You are correct of course. The primary objection we more orthodox Christians have to Mormonism is that it is process-based. It is about what you do to appease God. Instead, we follow the Bible when it says that we can do nothing to achieve our own salvation but that it is given by God Himself.
God is the Author of salvation. Not some mere "obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel."
Joseph Smith didn't revive the ancient church. He re-invented Pharisaism with some hokum, poorly digested history, and a hodgepodge of Masonry thrown in.

Yes, and I am as guilty as the rest.
In my zeal to defend Christianity, I often offend. I let my pride get the best of me. It is in precisely those moments I realize just how sinful I am, and how much I need a Savior to justify me in the sight of a loving but JUST God who abhors ALL sin.

TYPO. Mormonism in the last sentence. If others are offended, I apologize. I would never try to use the word moron as a spin tactic.

Spoken like any child of God. It is always good to recall that God doesn't want us to live in shame or defeat though. We should confess our sins, and try to overcome them through Him and for Him. In the same way you would not want your own children to grovel or to be caught in some counterproductive guilt, God wants us to succeed at living lives pleasing to Him.

TYPO.
I'm thinking we were all too thick-skinned (or thick-skulled) to have noticed it until you apologized for it. LOL.

I am sorry in order to have a cover up you have to have facts, and we are still wondering about the details I think to say things like that, is only your opinion.
We seem to have all of kinds of speculations about one side and nil of what provoke this?
It should have not happen if those involved had listen to council from Brigham Young to wait on the Lord. Those involved not only defied Brigham Young they showed little faith in the Lord to take council.
It you study history of the Church you will see a pattern and what happen at MMM is foreign to the pattern.
So to blame Brigham Young when in the pass he follows the pattern of trusting in the Lord is too accused Brigham Young of not having faith in the Lord.
If you knew anythink about the Church “proud or pride” is carefully used and what is this technically terminology?
I am convert and was converted by the power of the Holy Spirit so there is nothing technically about it!
Unless you are one of those who never had a testimony?

What were you, a mormon, doing in those churches? :)
I would suspect that in certian areas in the south and in places where a lot of Mormons live that preaching against Mormonism does happen.
But I have never seen or heard it. It is not a standard practice of most churches. What the author of this thread wrote just isn’t true.

There has been in our foyer are on the 3rd flood where the chapel is folks who have drop off flyers or pamlets which were anti LDS on our lamp tables.
We have had a few with signs standing in from on Sunday trying to intimidate.
Since the early eighty our region was trying to build a Temple in areas that was still not build up like wide open field etc. and we keep getting oppositions by the professional propagators.
So Our Prophet knew it was urgent that we have a temple and decided to build about our Chapel in NYC.
There was some opposition but the Utah crowd did not have much voice until open house which they were there camped out doing their thing and how did we know because they are familiar their photos have been taken in different location that they have showed up!

“Is there any point at all where you would consider religion a disqualifier?”
Speaking for myself, no. Now, there may be situations where the person’s religion affects his or her policy and politics; if those politics were opposed to mine, I would oppose the candidate.
