Russia cuts fuel supplies to Estonia amid statue row

moscow • Russia halted deliveries of oil products to Estonia yesterday in a move that coincided with protests in Moscow over the Baltic state’s relocation of a Soviet war memorial.

The cut-off was likely to revive Western fears the Kremlin is using its energy might as a political weapon against ex-Soviet neighbours.

Russia’s state rail monopoly said it planned to carry out maintenance on the rail link to Estonia, disrupting supplies.

Coal exporters said Russian railways had also halted exports of steam coal via Estonia for this month, totalling up to 900,000 tonnes, citing a shortage of railway wagons.

They said Russian rail monopoly RzHD told them they must use their own rail wagons, not RzHD’s, but it has not been possible with such short notice to find alternative wagons.

Moscow and Tallinn have been trading barbs since Estonia last week moved a bronze statue of a Red Army soldier—revered in Russia as a symbol of its huge sacrifices in World War Two — from its spot in the centre of the capital.

Russia refuses to even call Israel's enemies terrorists! Putin invited HAMAS to the Kremlin even though they support the Chechen jihad! Putin arms Israel's enemies to the teeth! He even arms Iran who supported jihad in Serbia! You see the world through a very narrow Miloseviknik lens. Russia's stupid aggression towards Europe is driving the US and EU closer, not further apart! Even on economic questions the EU is confronting Russia directly. EU threatens to block Russia on free trade - "WTO accession is a pre-condition for further bilateral trade negotiations with the EU." This is a direct result of the Kremlin's use of energy as a political weapon of blackmail and intimidation!

If one wants to understand Russia, one must forrgett words “Soviet”, “Dictatorship”, “Commies”
WRONG!

Russia allways was and will be AN EMPIRE!

Actually, Russia is Third Rome.

why:

1st Roman empire as we know it with capitol in Rome
2. Rome was devided on two empires, Western (Rome) and Eastern (Constantinople) that lasted un until XV century, that was “Second Roman empire” we call it Bysant, Bysanti, but thea never called themselves Bysantines, bur “Romans”

3. Russia enherited Eastern culture, Easter Roman culture, scripures and Religion, eastern ortodox.
4. Tile “Tzar” never existed, it is Slavic name fro highest monarch title, used for “Emperor” and “Sultan” aswell.
Proper titels of Russian Tzars and Tzarinas, were “Emperror Of All Russian” and “Empress Of All Russians”

There fore, Russia is not communist (Russians belive that West imposet communism to them) counry, Russia is an Empire, act, thinks and do as one!
Bright side is that Russia is Christian Empire, with Christianity as state religion.
In near fuure (would some like it or not) Russia will remain single Christian power in World (USA is not seen as Christian nation by European Christians nor Russians)

The Russian empire is proving itself to be as great an enemy of America as the Soviet empire. Therefore they must meet the same fate.

So which is it, should we pit them against each other, or should we kill them all ourselves? You can’t seem to decide!

Same sht here, US is not calling Albanian mastards “terrorists”, moreover it is openly advocating stealing 15% of our territory and ceeding it to Islamic bastards!
Condi shook hand to man (Kosovo PM) that is accused of rape and warcrimes by Hague...

My point is that both Russia ang US are playing “My favourite Muslim” to eachother.

That is disgusting. Muslims are in gain.

One interesting wiew from Israel:

"Russia refuses to even call Israel's enemies terrorists! Putin invited HAMAS to the Kremlin even though they support the Chechen jihad! Putin arms Israel's enemies to the teeth! He even arms Iran who supported jihad in Serbia!"

It's completely true.

Russia is acting like it's the old days complete with the arming to the teeth of Soviet Mid-Eastern client states, all against Israel and inciting war directly and indirectly through terrorist proxies (Hamas & Hezballah).

What was old and evil in Russia Putin is resurrecting at break speed but sugar coating with promises of monetary gain so the membership for the pro-Putin Nashi youth cultists will intensify, and be deployed all over Russia - just in time to enforce Putin's 3rd term,,.. opps I mean 'supervise' the Russian elections of 2008 as - rampaging storm troopers!

So who is real “savages”?

The real savages? The Russians who illegally entered into the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact with Nazi Germany, broke the treaty with Estonia and illegally occupied Estonia until 1991. The Russians who tortured and killed tens of thousands of Estonian, including some of my relatives. And the Russians who now disingenuously call their brutal and illegal actions heroic and protest the move of a symbol of such oppression. If I had my say, the monument would be ground into dust. As it is, the statute and the interred soldiers are being moved in a respectful manner, much more than is deserved.

You are either wilfully ignorant or lying in your characterization of the situation. Why do you shill for the memory of perhaps the most brutal state ever, and its current nostalgists?

Todays Putin defending Russians make feeble attempts to either whitewash or deny the barbaric history of Moscow's enslavement of independent nations. Those former captive nations are now free to expose the truth about their savage, Russian, communist occupiers.

"Just remember september of 1939, when it neighbours did to poland with UK and France doing nothing..."

Appeasement kills on a horrific scale. 1939 Poland is the evidence.

Have the historic lessons of non-response to tyrannical aggression been learned, absolutely not! The current example of nonresponse to state sponsored mass murder, is Darfur. The world only watches, sending token, unless U.N. 'peacekeepers' who do not interfere with the goals of the Sudan's Islamic genocidal butchers as they proceed in their official state policies of mass extermination.

A child's hand grasps barbed wire at Abu Shouk camp, located 7km north-west of Al-Fasher, the capital of North Darfur.

UN apologizes to Sudan over report leaking - newspaper

Saturday 5 May 2007

May 4, 2007 (KHARTOUM) — The United Nations apologized officially to Sudan for leaking the report published last month in the New York Times, which accused Khartoum of flying weapons into conflict-ridden Darfur in violation of UN Security Council resolutions, a news report said yesterday . “Sorrounded by hostile nations (Germany and their Bellarus/Russian frinds)”

Germany and Poland are both members of EU and have to obey EU laws, Germans are importing 24% of our goods and exporting 12%, they can be hostile as much as they want, but contrary to Russia they are concentrating on making business and making money rather then bullying anyone.
Russia is very overrated, just as it’s oil industry and weaponry.
Belarus? It’s like USA being scared of Mexico... what could Belarus do?

“bypassed by most oil/gas corridors (new goes Russia-Germanyavoiding poland across baltic,”

Poland is creating 2 new oil/gas lines which are supposed to satisfy 35%-40% of Polish oil cinsumption...
1. Caspian
2. Norwegian...
when the Norwegian will be created the one going from Russia to Germany won’t be build because oil/gas lines cannot cross each other. That solves two problems at the same time.
Polish prime minister flew to Kuwait to talk about new oil line!!!

“Poland is not as much Pro-European country as mu as pro-US.”

Poland is pro-polish that suits it. There are no “always lasting alliances”, there are common aimes. We share a lot with americans therefor I wouldn’t worry about that.

“So, Inbetween EU and Russia, Poland is likley to be politicaly and afterwards economically isolated with US too far to act in aid.”

Poland is too big to be isolated, population of Poland is larger then the rest of the “joined-the-EU-in-2004” countries all together!!! For your own good you cannot isolate country of this size and huge market. European leaders are wakeing up and seeing how Putin behaves, seeing that Russia is not a friend, a usefull oil distributor... yes
but not a friend

“Just remember september of 1939, when it neighbours did to poland with UK and France doing nothing...”

It’s business that counts, not sentiments... Germans invaded Poland so we shouldn’t make business with them?

You cannot compare Poland to Yugoslavia
Poland is a developed country with homogenic society, so two main tension factors:
-ethnic tensions
-economy crisis
we can cross out...

It was Tito who controlled what’s going on in Yugoslavia, after his death everything broke up...
Our leaders are changing but still we last... In democracy there is no need for authoritarian rulers.

“But Yugoslavia hade all that and much more...”

what more?

Yes, I can compare Yugoslavia with Poland.

- Ethnic tensions were allmost nonexistant before very end of Yugoslavia, most of the tensions were- induced outside of Yugoslavia.

- Break-up of Yugoslavia happened at the peak of economical strenght and just after free-market was introduced, and finances reorganised.

- Spain under Franco , fascist dictator, was multinational and multicultural country, much like Yugoslavia, but surrvived transition from dictatorship to democracy. Belgium and some other EU countries are with ethnical tensions.

>>- Ethnic tensions were allmost nonexistant before very end of Yugoslavia, most of the tensions were- induced outside of Yugoslavia.<<

I have never seen ethnic tensions end in ten years... In 2,3 generations, yes but in a decade then can settle down for some time and not expire.

“After Tito’s death on 4 May 1980, ethnic tensions grew in Yugoslavia. They all used the legacy of the Constitution of 1974 to throw the system of decision-making into a state of paralysis, all the more hopeless as the conflict of interests had become irreconcilable. The constitutional crisis that inevitably followed resulted rise of nationalism in all republics: Slovenia and Croatia made demands for looser ties within the Federation, Albanian majority in Kosovo demanded the status of a republic, Serbia sought absolute, not only relative dominion over Yugoslavia.”

>>- Break-up of Yugoslavia happened at the peak of economical strenght and just after free-market was introduced, and finances reorganised.<<

your finances reorganization is creating “bankruptcy law”, that’s not what I call peak of economical strenght.

“In 1989, according to official sources, 248 firms were declared bankrupt or were liquidated and 89,400 workers were laid off. During the first nine months of 1990 directly following the adoption of the IMF programme, another 889 enterprises with a combined work-force of 525,000 workers suffered the same fate. In other words, in less than two years “the trigger mechanism” (under the Financial Operations Act) had led to the lay off of more than 600,000 workers out of a total industrial workforce of the order of 2.7 million. A further 20% of the work force, or half a million people, were not paid wages during the early months of 1990 as enterprises sought to avoid bankruptcy. The largest concentrations of bankrupt firms and lay-offs were in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and Kosovo. Real earnings were in a free fall, social programmes had collapsed creating within the population an atmosphere of social despair and hopelessness. This was a critical turning point in the Yugoslav tragedy.”

>>Belgium and some other EU countries are with ethnical tensions.<<
yes but:
1. tension are mostly between illegal immigrants and citizens
2. noone wants to make them as an example of immigration policy
3. Flamand confilct in Belgium is brought from the streets to the parliament, exactly where it belongs to...

>>Yes, I can compare Yugoslavia with Poland.<<

nope you can’t, “Shock Therapy” in Poland in 1990 (made by Balcerowicz http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leszek_Balcerowicz) worked... the one in Yugo didn’t.

Do you know that Estonia FIRST in the world recognised Soviets in 1920? DO you know that the today prime minister of Estonia was the instructor of Tartu town commitee of CPSU(Communist party of Soviet Union).
Estonians helped Bolshevicks to win the Civil war in Russian empire so prepared thier own mishap in 1940. Later they had thier own communist party which “occupied” them.

Call Russians as the “communist occupiers” is total slander. Absolutely wrong. BUT as the russophobe it is your natiral behaivior:).

Russians did never entered in Molotov_Ribbentrop nether in any treaty with Estonia until 1991. It were SOVIETS.

About “illegal” occupation in 1940. The pavement to this “occupation” Estonia created herself when she enterd in teh illegal treaty in Bolshevicks in 1920 during Civil war 1917-22. By that Estonia HLEPED Bolshevicks to win and establish Soviet Union.
So Estonia became the FIRST country in the whole world who recognised Bolshevick power. Later same Bolshevicks who Estonia signed treaty in 1920 overturned it. I’d say it is justice. They got whatever they deserved.
