After reading the article, it appears the writer is trying to encourage others to get involved (duh) in jihad. However, the detraction from joining an 'organized' group is interesting, but not practical in the long term because without handling, these loners could in fact, screw up more organized operations through disrupting timing, altering security, etc as well as not being anywhere near as effective both in kill and in PR values.
