Warden Message: Southern Sana’a Fighting Ends
U.S. Embassy Sanaa released the following Warden Message on May 21:

In light of reports of explosions in Sanaa on Sunday, May 20, the Embassy remains concerned about the possibility of further incidents on and around Unity Day (Tuesday, May 22). The Embassy has instructed its staff to remain in their homes on Monday evening through Wednesday and to restrict non-essential travel outside of Sanaa through Saturday, May 26. The Embassy will be closed for Unity Day on Tuesday, May 22 and in honor of US Memorial Day on Saturday, May 26, but will be open on Wednesday, May 23 as normal.

The Embassy urges U.S. citizens to exercise caution and take prudent measures to maintain their security: maintain a high level of vigilance, avoid crowds and demonstrations, keep a low profile, vary times and routes for all travel, and ensure travel documents are current. The Embassy reminds American citizens that celebratory gunfire on the occasion of Unity Day and other events, can be dangerous.
