Isn’t there a Christian ritual that involves washing the feet? Didn’t Jesus wash the feet of the disciples? Was it Mary Magdalene that washed Jesus’ feet with her hair?

My point is simply this: Can Christians and people of other faiths use these “basins” for practice of some rite of their respective religion?

Personally I wouldn’t touch ‘em with ten foot pole.

On Holy Thursday, Catholic churches usually include a symbolic foot-washing as part of the mass (Last Supper remembrance).

My point is simply this: Can Christians and people of other faiths use these “basins” for practice of some rite of their respective religion?

Sure - but can imagine the controversy that would erupt if the local Catholic diocese planned to use these presumably non-denominational foot basins before the Easter weekend?

We better start pushing back, and soon.
