You probably have a child molester in your vicinity. People are more a danger. More of them broke out of jail and in to homes and killed than pitbulls. More kids drown in pools that are killed by pitbulss. Little children who get hold of firearms die more than pitbulls kill. Again you chastised another about bigger things to worry about, but you just aren’t grasping that death rates are more prevalent in other occurrences.

Red herring -- a decoy, an idea that is tossed into the argument to lead the line of reasoning in an irrelevant direction (from the practice of dragging a herring across a trail to throw off the scent in a hunt).
