Democratic party chairman Howard Dean said on Thursday that Rudy Giuliani "personal life is a serious problem."
Dean sent the warning on CNN's SITUATION ROOM with host Wolf Blitzer.
Chariman Dean said the former New York City Mayor "has a lot of character issues that he has to answer for. And overwhelmingly, Americans are going to vote on honesty and integrity.... We've begun to reach out to evangelical Christians, and that's a real problem for him. His personal life is a serious problem for him."
BLITZER: Well, describe those character issues...
DEAN: No, I'm not going to get into that stuff. I don't like attacking people on their personal lives, but I can assure you that in the Republican primary, given what went on in the 2000 Republican primary in South Carolina between George Bush and John McCain, those attacks will be made in the Republican Party.
Developing...
Wrong, they know that Rudy has no support on the right so they're going to triangulate and play with him like a yo-yo.
You guys really need to understand that when it comes to playing politics, Democrats are the masters at it.
Oh I know. I can undercut Rudy and tell Howie to STFU at teh same time. Multi-tasking, you know.
Dean must have been reading your posts the past couple of months.
The DNC is afraid of Rudy. If he runs against Clinton, he’ll beat her in the Northeast and California, which are their strongholds. If she loses the Northeast, and Calif., she certainly won’t win the South and Midwest.
So, they’re starting now to trying to destroy him. It’s the Clinton machine in action. This is only the beginning.
Good. then maybe he and the DNC will start complaining about gun grabbing, the gay agenda, and illegal aliens.
Giuliani’s ideas are a serious problem. I don’t give a darn about his girlfriends.
Well, the GOP will be hypocritical, too, if it nominates a philanderer after condemning Clinton for being a philanderer.
Me too, but even a stopped clock ... . Dean is right about Rudy. If Dean says the sun rises in the East, that doesn't mean the sun really rises in the West. And if Dean says that Rudy's personal life shows poor character, that doesn't make not it not true.
Who is the Philanderer that the GOP is naming for President?
Much as I hate to agree with Dean on anything, but Guiliani does seem to have the personal morals of an alley cat.
I don’t want a liberal republican president who wins with democrat votes.
Do some research into Rudy's marital past, and you won't have to ask.
The hypocrisy of democrats never cease to amaze me.
Nor the hypocrisy of RINO Republicans who (rightly) condemn Clinton's immorality while embracing Rudy despite his immorality.
And the article said the DNC was reaching out to evangelical Christians...well, they can reach out, but until they renounce their culture of death they're not going to be actually touching any of those evangelicals. Some people value life.
The GOP did not nominate Rudy yet for President and I do not think he will make it. However the democrats are the hypocrites for asking about the character of Rudy Giuliani when they were defending a President who has sex with a 22 years old woman in the oval office and lied about it to the public. That is why I said that their hypocrisy has not limit.
Democrat cowards and traitors are now going to lecture us on family values.
I’ll take a republican president over a democrat anyday. I don’t like Guiliani’s personal ethics, which is why I won’t vote for him in the primary. But if he IS our party candidate, there is absolutely NO way I wouldn’t vote for him. Do you REALLY want to see a President Obama or another President Clinton? I personally want to see a President Hunter, but I’ve never gotten everything I’ve wanted in life. And I like the way Guiliani confronts the dems. He’s got them sputtering because he goes right for the jugular.
Hillary Clinton will be an incredible candidate ... whatever we might think of her. She is surrounded with consummate pro’s.
I flew from DC>Miami a week ago with Hillary hater Dick Morris (who is only a mediocre prognosticator). His point that has empirical data is that single women are the ultimate swing voter and they will go overwhelmingly for Hillary .... particularly the younger one’s. Like it or not that group is also overwhelmingly pro-choice in any poll you want to cite.
I believe, other than RG, Hillary will get a 55%+ vote and take more House and Senate seats.
He is the only one who cuts into her other normal constituencies enough to beat her.
Worth repeating. There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY this country can afford any member of the Treason party in the WH.
In the old days, at least you could count on the Dems (JFK, Truman, and even FDR) to care about national security. Sadly, those days are gone.
