DEMS ON 'WAR'PATH VS. RUDY - FURY OVER 'SAFER GOP'
New York Post ^ | April 26, 2007 | MAGGIE HABERMAN

Posted on 04/26/2007 3:03:19 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

April 26, 2007 -- Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama laced into Rudy Giuliani yesterday after the GOP front-runner sparked an uproar by declaring America would be more vulnerable to a terror attack with a Democrat in the White House.

Former Sen. John Edwards and the Democratic National Committee also joined in on the anti-Rudy romp, accusing him of politicizing the war on terror in a daylong brawl.

Giuliani chuckled about the swirl of Democratic outrage about his comments, which put the media focus squarely on his strongest point - his 9/11 performance.

"It sounds like I hit at least a triple," Giuliani told radio host Sean Hannity. "I was trying for a home run, but I think I got at least a triple - meaning I have got the three leading Democratic candidates attacking me."

The flap started after Giuliani said in a speech in New Hampshire on Tuesday night that the nation will defeat terrorism no matter who wins in 2008, but that the Democrats want to "wave the white flag."

He told the Web site Politico.com that America will be "safer with a Republican president."

... Giuliani insisted he wasn't questioning the Democrats' patriotism, but added, "Everything I said is absolutely true - they want to retreat in Iraq."

He claimed that the Democrats "do not seem to get the fact there are . . . really dangerous people who want to come here and kill us. That, in fact, they did come here and kill us twice, and they got away with it because we were on defense, because we weren't alert enough to the dangers."

And I have no questions about their patriotism-they have none, they hate America and the goodness it represents.

Libs should welcome Rudy. His nomination would represent a major move to the left for the Republican party and a major victory for liberalism.

Please don’t come at me with this running Rudy argument. I am not a Rudy man... but I do not hate him like some here. BTW, hate is not only reserved for Rudy... every other candidate and the President are attacked just like on the du... no difference at all! I am going to support the most CONSERVATIVE candidate in the primaries and work to keep rinos off the ticket... and I will vote against any dim. I will put the USA first, ahead of any “feelings” that I have.

I pray that I do not have to face a choice that includes Rudy. NO WAY will I aid and abet hildebeast getting elected... not by any action or inaction... no way!

Rudy would be wise to keep doing this daily. Duncan Hunter, likewise, should call for Reid’s resignation at least twice daily.

Electing Hillary or Obama would put a muslim sympathizer in the White House!!!!

That's much much worse than having a President who's merely soft on islam or terrorism.

As I’ve noted on other of these threads, none of the Democrats are denying what he said is true. Rudy should point this out when questioned on his comments...

To assert that with Giuliani in charge, we deserve what we get from the jihadis is not only beyond stupid, but deserving of a horsewhipping.

Rudy had prostate cancer, if you’ll recall. He had to pull out and get prostate surgery in 2000. Sad sack Lazio ran in his place.

Rudy takes the fight to the dims and makes them look bad. Something that no other candidate at this time does.

You must have missed Duncan Hunter calling for Reid's resignation.

"....deserving of a horsewhipping. Be Seeing You, Chris

I could choose to interpret that as a threat to my person.
Well I'm easy enough to find with a little internet sleuthing.... If you think you are able.

They hate Bush more than they hate al Qaeda or the mad mullahs in Iran, and they offer to retreat on a time line for our enemies sake. Then they feign anger over the policy dispute about so-called attacks on their patriotism. What a bunch of sissies.

If Duncan Hunter takes the fight to the dims, never backs down, his poll numbers will go up.

Oh stop it! I have nothing personal against you.

Take it like a Southern Gentleman. What you wrote was both wrong and wrongheaded. Don’t try to change the subject.

Why run in ‘06 for the Senate when he was prepping to run for the Presidency, genius? Come on! Rudy has been ramping up his ‘08 thing since at least 2003. Why should he run for Senate. Let Hillary do that.

Running against her in New York where she’s popular is stupid. Running against her in the rest of the country, where she’s not, is smart.

That’s why Rudy passed on an ‘06 NYSenate race.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

“Most Democrats ARE patriotic....it’s just that they’re patriotic to the idea of what they want America to be, (what they want it to “progress” into) and not to what America is.”

Most democrat politicians see ‘patriotic’ as supporting any position at all theat keeps them in office.

Anyone who votes democrat is getting more of our troops killed.

Excellent point tkathy, and I'll up the ante: Anyone who votes Democrat or third-party is getting more of our troops killed.

Deal with it, anti-Republicans!

We need to hit the RATS and hit them hard or there won't be a tomorrow to worry about.

I applaud your entire post, especially this line.
