~Nicknames ~ George Herman Ruth, Jr. (February 6, 1895 August 16, 1948), also known as Babe, The Bambino, The Sultan of Swat, and The Colossus of Clout, was an American Major League baseball player from 1914-1935. Ruth is regarded by many historians and fans as the greatest baseball player of all time, due to a combination of his on-field accomplishments and records; his significant roles both in changing the way baseball is played and in establishing the New York Yankees dynasty; and his resulting worldwide name-recognition. He is a charter member of the Baseball Hall of Fame.

The cat, nicknamed Macavity, has one blue eye and one green eye.
The cat was nicknamed Macavity after the mystery cat in T.S Elliots poem. He gets on the bus in front of a row of 1950s semi-detached houses and jumps off at a row of shops down the road which include a fish and chip shop.
Driver Bill Khunkhun, 49, who first saw the cat jumping from the bus in January, said: It is really odd, the first time I saw the cat jumping off the bus with a group of passengers. I hadnt seen it get on which was a bit confusing.
The next day I pulled up on Churchill Road to let a couple of passengers on. As soon as I opened the doors the cat ran towards the bus, jumped on and ran under one of the seats, I dont think any of the passengers noticed.
Because I had seen it jump off the day before I carried on driving and sure enough when I stopped just down the road he jumped off - I dont know why he would catch the bus but he seems to like it. I told some of the other drivers on this route and they have seen him too.
Since January, when the cat first caught the bus he has done it two or three times a week and always gets on and off at the same stops.
Passenger, Paul Brennan, 19, who catches the 331 to work, said: I first noticed the cat a few weeks ago. At first I thought it had been accompanied by its owner but after the first stop it became quite clear he was on his own.
He sat at the front of the bus, waited patiently for the next stop and then got off. It was was quite strange at first but now it just seems normal. I suppose he is the perfect passenger really - he sits quietly, minds his own business and then gets off.

Bubba is generally from the mangled pronunciation of "brother" or "big brother" by younger siblings

My nickname (the one I’m allowed to share) is Jinx. Got it from my Dad...no, he didn’t give it to me, per se. His Air Force buddies called him Jinx, and my Army buddies did the same to me. They’d call out “Hi, Jinx!” as they walked by, and it stuck.
Something to do with the family name, I guess!

That’s quite understandable, my Father in-law was a firefighter for 20+ yrs. Had some problems with smoke inhalation and had to retire. It takes a special kind of person to take up such a dangerous profession (And one we’ve always taken for grated)

So we’re stuck on a mountain top in Honduras living out of 10 man tents. It got very cold on the mountain over night, so we would close up the tent tight, as in light tight, and make sure there was enough fuel in the stove to last the night.
I had to get up at 4:00 AM to get all the paperwork done before the start of the day and I didn’t want to wake my bunkmates by turning on a light. So I placed all my gear firefighter style so I could get dressed in the dark and not disturb anyone.
I wake up, get my BDUs on, put on my boots, grab my hat and get up to make my way to the door. Mission accomplished. Except that the guys had strung up some parachute cord to hang up some clothes to dry. Of course I did not see in the dark. I run into it, lose my balance, start to fall, catch myself by placing a hand on a still hot tent stove, causing me to recoil in pain right into the card table and folding chairs, which of course, I broke.
John Ritter or Chevy Chase could not have done a better job in the slap stick comedy department.
This of course led to my nickname while with that unit: Stealth.

Yes I do, when I was on leave I taped it to the Fridge where all of my siblings still lived, LOL!
When I got back, I took a pic of the plane itself and stuck that in the same frame.
