**Exclusive**

Alec Baldwin has taped an interview with Rosie O'Donnell for ABC's VIEW, sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

O'Donnell told the studio audience off camera that this will be the actor's only interview.

"He is leaving the country," O'Donnell told a stunned audience, says a source. [It was not clear if it was for vacation or an extended period of time.]

She said she advised Baldwin against doing the interview.

During the session, Baldwin apologized for his tirade against his daughter.

He also explained how he wants out of the TV business:

"I have been in the business for over 27 years and I don't care if I do anything else in TV ever again."

Baldwin left CREATIVE ARTISTS AGENCY on Monday. No reason for the split was provided.

He goes to Rosie O’Donnell to give an interview? Once a jerk, always a jerk. The man just can’t help himself.

Better late than never. He had promsised to leave the country if Bush won in 2000, but welched...let's see if he keeps his promise this time.

Damn. I guess it was wishful thinking, but I had originally read it as he was leaving the country permanently.

Baldwin is a typical shallow person...

He can perform as a convincing character in a role, because he has no character of his own.....
He becomes a chameleon and takes on the character of his role, he’s just an ACTOR...

The clown has killed any chance of custody, and will probably do harm to himself or someone with the year...

The only acceptable harm - would be to himself.....one can hope TERMINAL.

I know everyone loves to pile on, but he is one of the better actors in the world. He is very funny in his show and gave an excellent performance in "The Departed" with an all-star cast. I don't believe I have ever heard any of the people he has worked with say they dislike him, or that he comes unprepared or late for work. 27 years in TV is a remarkable run. A lot of actors say and do idiotic things. We still watch them if the show (or movie) is good.

Yes, he has a horrible temper and says some horrible things, but I, for one, like his work and hope he returns.

Baldwin was also pretty decent in The Cooler, where he played a violent, bullying, and really unpleasant Las Vegas casino owner.

He does OK in roles where he doesn’t have to stretch too far from his natural character (Red October was done in a happier period of his life).

You’ve got to admit things are REALLY bad when you go to Rosie O’Dumbbell to achieve “damage control”....!!!

Maybe when Rosie takes over as Hitlery’s campaign manager she can get him a PARDON...???

And YOU thought those washed up celebs couldn’t get creative....????
