Chaos erupts outside Petraeus briefing

Chaos erupted Wednesday outside a House briefing with Army Gen. David Petraeus, the U.S. military commander on the ground in Iraq.

Protestors thronged the halls of the Rayburn House Office Building outside the committee room where Petraeus is briefing members of Congress. The assembled protestors, which included members of Code Pink, shouted for members to bring U.S. troops home from Iraq as the lawmakers entered the room.

Then, Rep. Duncan Hunter of California, the ranking Republican on the House Armed Services Committee, called on Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) to resign after suggesting the war in Iraq “is lost.”

That prompted the protestors to shout him down and pandemonium ensued before Capitol Police officers cleared the hallway for reporters, members and aides.

Both parties have scheduled on-camera briefings following the meeting to share their impressions of what Petraeus has to say.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) scheduled a briefing for Democrats on Wednesday afternoon, a day after ABC reported that Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) would not attend the meeting.

I don't know about an ugly stick, looks like the whole dang tree fell on him.

That thing landed in the Ugly Forest after being dropped from 30K feet.

Totally freakin' awesome. I'll bet you that RudyTooty doesn't have the cajones to do that.

Yes, but when running for President some men tone it down.

And toning it down does not pass my litmus test of 08, which is a requirement of being a ruthless SOB.

Thompson/Hunter Hunter/Thompson Works for me...

It needs to be Thompson/Hunter. That would allow some grooming for DH to take the reigns in the next cycle. We could potentially lock the WH down for the Conservative movement beyond 2020. Think about that and the "damage" (HA! libspeak) we could do FOR this Country. We would also have much more time to deal with the remaining RATpublicans AND the real RAT's in the Congress. Blackbird.

Way to go, Congressman Hunter! That’s what I love about this man. He’s one of the few that will stand up and say what needs to be said.

...called on Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) to resign after suggesting the war in Iraq “is lost.”

Slight correction here; Reid did not "suggest" that the war is lost he bloody well said in plain english that it is! The buffoon should have been shouted down on the spot!

Since Reid has become a “Cheese Eating Surrender Monkey” it would be a great idea for everyone in America to send him some cheese. A few thousand pounds of Wisconsin’s finest would keep the story in the news for a while and make “Cheesy Reid” a laughing stock for ever.

The Democrats wouldn't be so successful with their propagandizing if so many Republicans weren't playing dead.

For all intents and purposes, they ARE dead. All except their mouths to make promises they don't intend to keep and their hands still reaching for that money.

There might be one with a pulse for every 25-30 undead.

Hunter is the real deal. This is just a continuation of his views right along.

He doesn’t need the big staff the other candidates have as
he has the facts and knowledge outright. I can’t waite for the debates.

Vietnam vet Hunter’s son in a few weeks will be on this thrid tour in Iraq as a Marine.

While Hunter isn't my first choice for the Republican nomination, there are definitely good reasons to admire the man.

No there isn’t. Evidentally, you didn’t agree with him, or he wouldn’t have bored you. A few years out from beneath the influence of those commie college profs and a man like Duncan Hunter will not bore you, I promise.
