The Rudy Giuliani Truth File in his own words and deeds

The Rudy Giuliani Truth File in his own words and deeds - quotes, speeches, transcripts, clips, reports

This is the start of a series of threads that will be used to expose the truth about Rudy Giuliani in his own words and deeds.

Please post all of the quotes, speeches, interview transcripts, video clips, photos, newspaper/magazine articles, reports, records, statistics, NYC budgets, NYC spending, political appointments, gun grabs, connections to the gun control lobby, lawsuits against gun manufacturers, the truth about crime reduction in NYC, private property grabs, asset forfeitures, abuses of office, individual rights trampling, constitution trampling, violations of public trust, violations of the rule of law, national security risks, failures in security preparedness prior to and after 911, corruption, graft, bribes, favors, union dealings, mob dealings, business dealings leveraged through government contracts and contacts, rainmaking for his business partners, connections to US, Middle East or South American oil and energy companies and law firms that have profited and or will profit from Giuliani's government offices especially if he becomes president, war profiteering, his personal and business finances, his train wreck of a private life and lack of character, lack of qualifications for high office, illegal alien sanctuaries, welfare for illegals, pandering to illegals/illegal alien lobby, support for the abortion and gay rights lobbies, NARAL connections and participation, past and current support for McCain-Feingold, connections and dealings with liberal officeholders or the liberal/socialist caucuses/lobbies, etc, etc, etc, that you can find.

We're primarily interested in the words from his own mouth or primary source records and reports of his deeds/misdeeds. All submissions must contain true facts with documentation and links to source documentation and a link to FR thread on the individual item if available.

We do not need to embellish the record. The ugly truth from his own liberal mouth will impeach his credibility and the reader will be able to disqualify the man from consideration for high office based solely on his own words and deeds.

Here's an example entry:

Rudy on gun control: "You've got to REGULATE consistent with the Second Amendment"

FOX News | Feb 6, 2007 | Hanity and Colmes

http://www.freerepublic.com/^http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,250497,00.html

HANNITY: Let me move on. And the issue of guns has come up a lot. When people talk about Mayor Giuliani, New York City had some of the toughest gun laws in the entire country. Do you support the right of people to carry handguns?

GIULIANI: I understand the Second Amendment. I support it. People have the right to bear arms. When I was mayor of New York, I took over at a very, very difficult time. We were averaging about 2,000 murders a year, 10,000...

HANNITY: You inherited those laws, the gun laws in New York?

GIULIANI: Yes, and I used them. I used them to help bring down homicide. We reduced homicide, I think, by 65-70 percent. And some of it was by taking guns out of the streets of New York City.

So if you're talking about a city like New York, a densely populated area like New York, I think it's appropriate. You might have different laws other places, and maybe a lot of this gets resolved based on different states, different communities making decisions. After all, we do have a federal system of government in which you have the ability to accomplish that.

HANNITY: So you would support the state's rights to choose on specific gun laws?

GIULIANI: Yes, I mean, a place like New York that is densely populated, or maybe a place that is experiencing a serious crime problem, like a few cities are now, kind of coming back, thank goodness not New York, but some other cities, maybe you have one solution there and in another place, more rural, more suburban, other issues, you have a different set of rules.

HANNITY: But generally speaking, do you think it's acceptable if citizens have the right to carry a handgun?

GIULIANI: It's not only -- I mean, it's part of the Constitution. People have the right to bear arms. Then the restrictions of it have to be reasonable and sensible. You can't just remove that right. You've got to regulate, consistent with the Second Amendment.

HANNITY: How do you feel about the Brady bill and assault ban?

GIULIANI: I was in favor of that as part of the crime bill. I was in favor of it because I thought that it was necessary both to get the crime bill passed and also necessary with the 2,000 murders or so that we were looking at, 1,800, 1,900, to 2,000 murders, that I could use that in a tactical way to reduce crime. And I did.

Anyone know what happened to NapkinUser or what could have led to his suspension?

No, but I can name off a dozen or more who really deserve suspension or banning. What’s up this time? What was NapkinUser’s last known thread?

What was NapkinUser’s last known thread?

Since his account was suspended, we can't go through is "In Forum" posting history, so we'll have to look ourselves - assuming that whatever he posted wasn't deleted already.

I see he posted THIS relevant information in this very thread this morning about about 4:00am Pacific time. Can anyone find anything newer.

What exactly is your problem with my statement? You’ve objected to it, but you haven’t said why. Explain yourself so I can address it.

That's just downright, well, silly. I'll try one more time a little slower. "Laws" are not "Laws" but God died for our "Lawbreaking". When you get tired of chasing your tail, winded and all, maybe you'll realize the big circle you ran in. I can't help you get beyond silly. Beyond that circular statement, I am kicking 50 in the butt, and for the life of me, I HAVE NEVER HEARD the Gospel preached from the perspective that God is dead. IF God is dead, what's left to fear? You will serve as a most recent reminder as to why I'll not speak of religion with internet theocon's. I get better insight from 3 year olds. Buh bye now! Blackbird.

In all your responses you credit gun confiscation with control of violence, which is 180 degrees out from reality. Gun restrictions prevent honest, decent people from availing themselves of the only means of protection that exists.

Gun control causes violence, and strengthens the advocates of humanist socialism.

I’ll explain what I meant. Try to act less juvenile and you might understand:

1. Traditional religion says that if we keep a set of laws, or precepts, or principles, or hold to a set of beliefs, God is obligated to save us, or we can, in some way, earn salvaton. The Gospel says there is nothing we can do to earn salvation, and that there is no set of laws — even our own — that we have the ability to keep. Much less God’s laws.

2. When I said, God died for our lawbreaking, I meant what I outlined in the Gospel message (which you have yet to comment on). When we broke God’s laws, we condemned ourselves to hell. Breaking one law, just once, is enough to condemn us. So God the Son, Jesus, came down to earth, lived a perfect life on our behalf, and suffered and died on our behalf. Jesus was God. God the Son died for us.

3. The idea that God can die is, I realize, a difficult one. Doesn’t make it false. I certainly did not say God died forever. But Jesus who was God in the flesh experienced death and hell for us, on our behalf.

BB, these are the basics of Christianity. Find three FReepers who disagree with these basics, and I will find you 300 who agree. I have no idea where you learned what you know (I don’t even know what you believe, because you won’t share it), but I am willing to discuss this with you if you keep a respectful attitude.

I pray that you will invert your values and let the Bible inform your view of "right" government, and not the other way around.

I guess you skipped that part of the Bible where God let all the Jews who refused to fight for the promised land, die, before he led Joshua into battle.

Oh well......

We look upon authority too often and focus over and over again, for 30 or 40 or 50 years, as if there is something wrong with authority. We see only the oppressive side of authority. Maybe it comes out of our history and our background. What we don't see is that freedom is not a concept in which people can do anything they want, be anything they can be. Freedom is about authority. Freedom is about the willingness of every single human being to cede to lawful authority a great deal of discretion about what you do. - Rudy Giuliani, 1994.

Cut from the same cloth?

"We're saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good." - Hillary Clinton, 2004.

“He didn’t need to make murder rates look lower comparatively. Murder went down in real terms, in real numbers. Big numbers.”

Ah! Indeed the crime rate declined in NYC, just as did the trend throughout the entire nation according to FBI crime statistics - except there’s one bit of info not factored in by Giuliani’s supporters; under his direction, the city spent $3 billion per year on the police system which works out to plus/minus $81,000 annually for each person on the police force. It’s not to say costs aren’t worth the result - it’s just that as akin to the costs associated with the US troop surge in Baghdad, one should expect a decline in violence and property crime. But the results aren’t all that much better than that of the nation as a whole.

http://www.gothamgazette.com/article//20030113/202/129

With that kind of funding, anyone ought expect a significant decline in crime.

Regards....

Giuliani even has his own honorary webpage at Stonewall.

You’re coming into the middle of a conversation that you haven’t seem to have read. Also, the conversation BB and I were having was one in which he did the same thing — inserted himself into the stream of a conversation.

Both of you should read it from the beginning if you’re going to have a coherent discussion. I’l happy to discuss things with you, but you have to do your homework first.

By the way, if you’d like to live under the Old Testament covenants, and not the Gospel, be my guest.
